3. Rain = high Dem turnout
Traditionally, the thinking goes, bad weather is a plus for the Democrats, because we're not wusses who don't want to get our hair messed.

13. It's supposed to be raining in Ohio ...
however, it'll be positively Baltic for the first week of November -- high 50s on Election Day. The lower turnouts usually result when it's cold and inclement. Warm weather's good, no matter what -- even if it's raining, I don't imagine it'll suppress turnout here appreciably.

Me? My polling place is less than four blocks away, and I'll probably drag my butt outta bed and vote first thing in the morning anyway. Somebody tell me I need my first cuppa coffee first, though -- I'd hate to screw up the punch card!

Well, you get the message = NO!
Two years ago it snowed on Halloween.
Weather never stops us in Vermont.
I've been to work in snow, ice, sleet, wind... you name.
So, if I can go to work in any weather, VOTING, a true joy, will be a piece of cake, slam dunk (where have I heard that lately???).

Oh, and we don't use machines.
Paper ballots.
Hand-counted.

Kerry On!

32. The rain is nothing! Plus I already voted by absentee anyhow.
Gee, who would stay home because of rain? Growing up in Maine you learn how to drive in the crappiest weather. I've driven through floods, snow storms/blizzards, and freezing rain (both with and without power outages and on hilly winding roads) for less important reasons than voting I think. I doubt it will rain too much over here in Florida, if at all. Some times the down pours can be difficult to drive in, but they don't last long when they happen. I wouldn't expect any down pours since we're not in the rainy season any more.

Bad weather traditionally has an effect on turnout.

if bad weather keeps anyone home, it won't be me. It will be some "undecided" who figures Bush will win anyway. (My polling place last year's election was a madhouse, and I will endevour to be the first loony at the door--I get a day off, courtesy my employer.)

Ive always heard that the democrats are the ones who dont vote when its raining. My father has said this many times, and hes hardcore democrat. Me, im libertarian, but i am voting for John Kerry cause i want Dubya out, and Michael Badnarik has no chance in hell of winning. Anyway, its gonna be nice an sunny over here in California :).

Pass out rain gear at polling sites and to crews dring people to the polls - plastic rain capes, umbrellas, etc. Dollar stores usually have the rain capes with hoods for $.50.
