Well, this woman got up this morning and DID something!
.
The morning commuters in St. Paul, Minnesota were greeted with this:

St. Paul, Minn., resident JoAnne Krieger holds a sign announcing to morning commuters in St. Paul her sentiments about the up coming presidential election Friday morning Oct. 29, 2004. Krieger says she was motivated to take up her one woman campaign effort because of the 'fanatical religious right' and it's influence with the Bush presidency. Krieger called Bush a theocrat. 1. Geez, I thought that was Laura!
But, then again, she doesn't have that glassy look in her eyes.

4. It could be Laura...
remember how she says she never criticized bush again after mildly criticizing a speech of his years ago and he responded by driving their car through the garage door?

6. ROFL!!!
I thought so for a moment, too! But, you know what? Laura has that glassy look in her eyes for the very same reason that lady in the picture has written on her sign. :scared: LOL!

7. Tomorrow morning, volunteers are trying to have a procession of 72 coffins
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 10:07 PM by gauguin57
(the cardboard, flag-draped kind) through the city of Lancaster, PA (which is pretty Democratic, though the county is decidedly NOT -- and there'll be lots of voters downtown for market day.

The coffins symbolize the 72 PA soldiers killed in Iraq (they were used in the "free-speech cornfield" outside Bush's Lancaster rally Wednesday -- one freeper kindly said to one of the anti-Bush protesters, "I hope it was YOUR son who died." real compassionate conservatives.).

There will be a Moveon rally, a Women/African-Americans/Latinos for Kerry vigil and lots of other events for these coffins to pass by. Even if they only get some of these coffins moving, it'll be spectacular and moving (and hopefully it'll wrench the hearts of a few undecideds).

The volunteers just decided about 24 hours ago they'd do this -- just like this lady probably made up this sign before she went to bed and got up determined to do something to call attention to this thoroughly evil administration.

"Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead.

11. I see and hear stuff like this and I feel good. THis is just your
neighbor, a normal woman from a normal life striking out by herself in an uncertain world to do good. I wish I knew her address. I would send her a bouquet. What a brave soul she is.
