1. Give Kerry a couple more states...
like Florida and Tennessee, maybe, and I'll take it! :)

2. I'll honestly be very surprised...
...if Arkansas goes to Kerry. But even without that, it's still a 289 win for us. :) The rest looks fine to me.

3. I'm PRAYING we get FL.
If we take FL, we don't need to worry about a lot of those that you list.

8. I'm seeing encouraging early voting news coming out of
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 10:21 PM by deadparrot
one county (I can't remember which, they all run together), but the article said it would make FL extremely hard for * to win.

Knock on wood, of course.

13. I think you're thinking of the preliminary early voting from Dade.
It's the most populous county in Florida, no doubt.

Dade is heavy with minorities, though -- I don't know if it's a good indicator of where FL will go or not, I don't live there. What I do know is, the results look good from Miami-Dade so far.

14. That's probably it.
Sorry for my ignorance...I'm on information overload.

Best of luck to all of you in FL!

17. I'm in 'the other Florida' actually.
Which is to say Ohio, and I dread Tuesday. You only vote early in Ohio if you did an absentee ballot, and absentee ballots are restricted to people who have a legitimate reason not to be at the polling place, so we won't know anything about it until late Tuesday evening, if then.

But we're almost all voting paper, here. Whether poll challenges will provide sufficient intimidation to keep people from voting, I don't know -- and we won't know until Tuesday, of course.

4. i have to think kerry will win florida
the turnout and the new registrations have been historic. bush should have lost florida in 2000 by 50,000 votes. they already had the dirty tricks in place here in evil jeb land.

most people dont realize how many votes were supressed here in 2000. it was criminal. jeb, witchy poo, delay, a bunch of suited delay staffers, and some old cia guy in palm beach should all be rotting in jail for electoral fraud but in bushs' america republican gangsters never see justice.

20. Heavy early turnout in NV
Here are the early voting numbers for Clark (Vegas) and Washoe
(Reno).

Clark 124044 Dem 113267 Rep	41016 Ind/3
Washoe 12718 Dem 12905 Rep 4563 Ind/3
Total 136762 Dem 125985 Rep 45579 Ind/3

Statewide %
               32% Dem 29% Rep 26% Ind/3

Smaller counties do not post data on the web, But they are
only 15 % of the state. However Rep outnumber Dems by 30182
in these counties. If the turnout in the rest of the state
matches Vegas percentage wise, then we are pretty close to
even at this point. If the turnout is smaller then we are
ahead at this point. The key is turnout. Whoever turns out
here wins.

Turnout will be heavy. Kerry was here Tuesday, Clinton was
here today. Nevada is NOT a lock for Bush.

I tend to forget these rather high numbers when I consider the massive minority disenfranchisement

7. NV to *, and -- dare I suggest -- FL to Kerry
Also not sure about NM and IA, but I have a better feeling about them than I do Nevada. I will be surprised if that state goes blue -- not shocked, it's definitely possible -- just pleasantly surprised.

Regarding Florida:

I know that the absentee ballot thing is bad, but there is good news re: Dade County. Apparently we're Kerrying that county by 50-60,000 more votes than last time.

There was also a post last night by a DU'er with a friend in the * headquarters for a county in Florida. It would appear to be a disorganized mess of squabbling Repubs.

9. I would definitely accept that. The beauty is, we will still win with
that map, even if we don't take NV, NM, AR, and IA.

10. I love your map! Because...
even if you take away Ohio & Nevada and only carry the states Arkansas & New Hampshire (Al Gore didn't) - Kerry still wins! Hooray!

I see what's going on down here with the Dems and what's not happening with the Rethugs. Its ours, all 27 EVs.

23. More Democrats have voted in Oregon than Repubs.
According to today's "Oregonian" newspaper.

Part of that, they say, is that the rightwing nutjob talk show hosts are urging people to hold their ballots to the last minute to keep them "protected" (presumably from those vote-stealing Democratic ballot handlers -- hah!). But the Rethug operatives are pissed off at this misinformation because they want as many of their people as possible to vote early.

Heh heh. I love it when pukes fight amongst themselves.
