TedKoppel to voters:"Don't let Osama bin Ladin play with your head"
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 11:11 PM by billbuckhead
That's what he told America tonite at the end of Nightline as a sort of special conclusion. Ted said that Bush is considered more single minded about getting terrorism, but one shouldn't let Bin Ladin pick your candidate. He said if you want Bush, vote for Bush, if you want Kerry, vote for Kerry. FU Ted.

1. Makes sense to me
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 11:14 PM by Dickie Flatt
You shouldn't let bin Laden influence your vote. If bin Laden says vote Bush, don't listen. If he says vote Kerry, don't listen. If he blows shit up, don't change your vote just because you're scared.

Now, rejecting Bush because he couldn't catch Osama, that's not letting bin Laden influence your vote, that's letting Bush's gross incompetence influence your vote, and that's ok.

2. What's wrong with that statement?
He was responsible for the most successful terrorist attack in American history, and it was only successful because it has caused us to "lose our freedoms" (Patriot act, freedom from fear, etc.) That was one hell of a manipulation, and sadly, it worked.

7. I don't think so but then I don't trust Ted so I'm biased.
However earlier Clark said that Bin Ladin wanted Bush to be President and another anaylst who was with Clark concurred. I guess Ted had to try to compensate but Ted's end of the show conclusion still didn't seem fair and balanced. Clark also said that he knew Bush let Bin Ladin get away because he was in the government then.

5. There's nothing wrong with saying that
It makes a lot of sense, something we rarely see in the media today.

9. Don't let Ted Koppel play with your head, either
Ted misread the script. What he should have said was "simple minded."

I don't see anything wrong with Koppel's statement, he said the fairest non-partisan thing that he could.

14. if'n you want to "git Bin-Laden"....
things to consider:

bush* "outsourced" the "git Bin-Laden" operation so he could invade Iraq based on false premises

our military is pretty much tied up in Iraq and that leaves little to no extra troops to go off in search of Bin-Laden

in order to "git Bin-Laden" we will need to free up some troops and that means INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND HELP

under bush* that cooperation and help won't be coming -- if it's not there now, it won't be there after Nov. 2 either -- this means Bin-Laden will remain free and alive

under Kerry we stand a greater chance of getting the International cooperation and help

so ask your bush* supporters if they are more interested in another 4 years of lies and bush*it -- or are they more interested in "git'in Bin-Laden"

17. Koppel seemed to say Bush had more focus on the war on terror
He said it like a given. Unfortunately this tape proves we're losing the war on terror. Chimpy left bin Laden leave Tora Bora and to go on to become an iconic statesman. Does anyone doubt Bin Laden's stature around the world goes up and ours goes down with the release of this tape. Koppel should be ashamed for enabling this incompetant regime.

18. Yeah, my interpretation would be...
In "subliminal guy" fashion:

Make up your own mind (Bush). Vote for who you're going to vote for (Bush). Don't let the terrorists influence your vote (Bush)...

But I didn't actually hear Ted Koppel so I could be wrong. I'm basing it on my cynicism about U.S. media in general.
