Greatest week in political history? |
|
Could this week have gone any better? :wow:
Report after report on clumsy attempts by Republicans to stifle the vote will only remind the voters of the great election robbery of 2000--and ensure that Democrats are on hand at every precinct ready to preserve our democracy. :grr:
Those attempts repeatedly get smacked down in the courts. :spank:
The Big Dawg steps on a stage and fires up the faithful even more. Truly inspiring!
Condoleeza puts her foot in it again, brazenly campaigning for her numb nuts boss despite the small problem that she was breaking the law.
Halliburton comes back, smellier than ever, with the FBI finally noticing that Cheney's once and future employer was the recipient of the largest and most corrupt giveaway in U.S. history.
The world learns that the aforementioned numb nuts let 300 tons of high explosives pass through his fingers--and every weak attempt to deflect blame is proven false within hours. It gets so bad they prop a real soldier in front of a battery of microphones, where he succeeds only in showing how our CINC will sacrifice anyone and everyone (particularly our citizens in uniform) to save his hide.
Senator Kerry is proven right once again--after Bush and the entire press corps belittle his claim that the war in Iraq has cost the US taxpayer $200 billion, we learn that Bush and Co. are readying a supplemental request for $75 billion, pushing the financial cost of the war to $225 billion (and climbing). Okay, so the press doesn't eat the crow it should, but we know who was right all along.
Add to that the missing flu vaccines, stock market tanking, oil prices skyrocketing, you get the picture.
And through it all, Senators Kerry and Edwards are being received by gigantic enthusiastic crowds wherever they go, while Bush has to clone his supporters using Photoshop.
I'm sure I'm missing some other powerful events, but really, could there be better timing?
Man, it's good to be a Democrat in 2004! :dem:

This week has just been too chock full of goodness.
Giuliani's comments were priceless (and tasteless and nasty). :)
