Anyone seen the "positive" ad by Bush campaign ?? |
|
Of the little girl he was hugging who lost her father or a loved one on 9/11. Makes him look compassionate and caring, warm and fuzzy. Is this the image they want to project in the last few days of the election? How effective will it be? Should Kerry have a new "positive" ad of his own?

All the ones I have seen have either been calling Kerry a tax and spend liberal or say as soon as he is elected the terrorists will be at in Walmarts.

I was wretching. This was pure schlock. He hugs one girl and voila! He is Mr. Compassion. How bout those flag-draped coffins you wouldn't let us see, Mr. President? How about all those 9/11 victims you have blown off? How about all the uninsured children? So compassionate. :eyes:

|
Is this what they have been waiting for??

7. Is this the ad with the computerized crowd? |
|
I live in the great state of Mass and we don't get any ads. They were talking about this on unfiltered yesterday.

13. No, that's a different, more recent ad -- one that they had to recut |
|
after their deception was exposed on the Internet. Both ads are positive, but the one with the hug was paid for by a 527 (with some very rich Bush supporters behind it, including a billionaire; they spent $14 million on air time), and the ad with the Photoshopped pic is from the campaign. As I mentioned in another reply here, both are apparently phony, because that hug was almost certainly a staged event, not spontaneous.

8. The amazing thing is..."That's IT" |
|
It isn't like he's hugging a girl and "he made all children safer by" or he's hugging a girl and "he's helping children by..."
Nope the whole ad is, pResident Shrimp encountered this girl and he hugged her and then went on his merry heedless way....

at least in my area. I honestly think it is going to hurt Bush after the Bin Laden tape or is it my bias point of view?

Is that the one where he's staring straight into the camera while he's hugging her?
Here's what's going through his head when he's staring at the camera.
"Hell yeah, I gotta get this photographers name...Rove is gonna LOVE this shit!"

12. Saw it, and thought it seemed phony, though his base loves it. |
|
Like the wolves ad, it isn't likely to sway anyone who's undecided.
The background on the ad, which was in USA Today, makes it seem even more phony. The father of the girl Bush is hugging there is a marketing consultant. So I doubt there's much chance that the hug was at all spontaneous. This one was staged, and Bush was looking at the camera the girl's father held, apparently to make sure the photo was snapped, as planned.

Tears in his eyes, telling us it's actually a hard decision to send people into war. ...Not that he would have done anything differently, of course.
