3. Here's the problem I have with the tape |
|
Bush has had an absolutely dreadful week. Day after day he has been ratfucked by the headlines, and the Sunday news shows were set to be dominated by the explosives story and other debacles.
Now, the tape has blown that away. It's going to be wall to wall Osama and whores trying to spin it for Shrub.
So regardless of how people view the tape, the fact that it gave Dipshit some breathing room absolutely blows.

4. Also, BushCo had 8hours to prepare a statement... |
|
and what we got was Blinky Behind The Portable POTUS Podium, stuttering over 50 words of standard stump speech crap.
Not exactly inspiring by any level of the imagination.

10. bin Laden is more than a reminder of Bush's failure |
|
He's a threat to America who hit us hard, evaded us for over three years, and has inspired, and will inspire, others to do the same.

11. He's the greatest mass murderer in U.S. history |
|

and, three years later (with Bush on the record as saying he doesn't think much about him) he's still on the loose and Bush is the candidate whom most voters feel is stronger in the fight against terrorism.
And the media continue to trumpet his reappearance as a plus for Bush. As good as I feel about our chances on Tuesday, I spent part of last night feeling as if I'd been punched in the stomach.
For all of that, I agree with you Pete; this hurts Bush in the end. For every scaredy cat undecided voter who turns Bush over this, the stupidity of it all keeps our side radicalized and motivated, and there might even be a few independent thinkers out there who swing our way as well. If I'm wrong, OBL goes down in history as the best friend Bush ever had (we all know his presidency was going nowhere before 9/11).

13. Regarding the new OBL tape |
|
The Kerry campaign should run new ads replaying Smirk's incredible comments 2 years ago that capturing OBL was not something he was concerned about...as he revved up his war machine for the Iraq invastion.
Those statements are highly damaging and most Americans have forgotten what he said in the choas of the Iraq war.
When they see how Smirk, after pleging to the American People in the horrid aftermath of 911 to capture/kill this Infamous Mass Murderer **in the most emotional terms** only to turn around a year later and say that capturing OBL is *not a prioty* of his adminstration EVERYTHING will fall into place.
The electorate will again be reminded on why this Barbarian is still on the loose while America is pinned down in a bloody quagmire in a country that has nothing to do with the so-called War on Terror...and everything to do with Oil and enriching Smirk's corporate contributors.

12. I hope you're right. Not to mention, * actually looked spooked,.. |

ala the infamous 7 mins. He didn't come across as strong and "resolute." He appeared to be quaking in his cowboy boots.
However, I'm sorry to say, I have no respect for the intellect of American voters.

and the text of the message didn't help Bush either. It was taunting bush for not getting OBL and making such a mess of things.
I think OBL wants to negotiate. Which won't happen. But that was the intent I think.

15. That's a pretty thick limb you're on! |
|
I think this clearly hurts Bush more than helps him. It underscores how he has screwed up over the past three years.
As one DUer said the other day, most people will think, "Why is this man on my TV? Shouldn't he be dead or captured?" Then the logical conclusion is to blame Bush.
