8 dead and 9 wounded, another bloody day in Baghdad. More names to add to the upcoming OIF war memorial. I can't stand this anymore!

3. Why will Kerry pull out the troops in a finger snap?
Take out the troops, and the terrorists who moved in (if not the understandably livid Iraqi citizens who we invaded) will destroy the oil pipelines that much more easily.

We need the UN to take over and to help the Iraqis without imposing anyone else's will unto them. Period. That will take years too.

5. Whoa -- not even nearly
There are too many groups just waiting for our withdrawal so they can claim their chunk of (oil rich) territory. The violence is not going to end if we leave. Sabotage and murder will continue, except it'll be intramural, rather than being focused on the visiting team.

There won't even be a shortage of weapons when ours are gone because they've got all of Saddam's dispersed throughout the country, plus whatever the islamofascists are carrying over the borders.

I happen to think civil war is inevitable in Iraq and I don't want our troops to be there when the shit flies more than it is now.

I also think the situation is so dire that President Kerry is going to have to fall on his sword for America (i.e., make so many politically unpalatable choices that he can't get reelected). I think he knows it and it's a measure of the man that he's going for it anyway. Got more courage than me.
