Joe Trippi - The Downhill Spiral Continues
Is this guy actually a Democrat? Is he really supporting the party or is he whoring at light speed right now?

He was just on MSPMS saying "The blogs are silent about the bin Laden tapes"...like we're in some stand-down mode. Now he doesn't cite a blog, but they're sure not the ones I've been reading.

Joe's take: The campaign is sending the word to keep quiet, instead of mentioning the large number of us who are asking the BIG question "Why is bin Laden still out there?"

Sheesh...ya think it was something Triumph did to him? Joe has gone Estrich on us since Boston.

6. He also said that the OBL tape favors Bush
Am I stupid or something, but I just don't understand that line of thinking. The mere fact that he is alive and sending out tapes is an indictment of the abject failure of Bush to come through on his "promise" get the terrorists who attacked us. Can't anybody see that?

4. Last night..
Joe said it would take a couple days before anyone knew which way anything would change as a result of that tape--

But said that it could benefit Kerry - or benefit Bush --- and that the blogs were as confused as the media was on what would happen..

Has he changed his tune since that comment?

16. He's Making Up His Own "Blogosphere"
Take a look at Josh Marshall's log...the irony is he mentions right after the silly Pentagon press conference to try to feebily shoot down the Al QaaQa stuff, Josh said "isn't it time for the October surprise"...and sure enough the next entry is about the bin Laden tape.

Guess Joe's browser doesn't see those sites, or even check out how quick the folks here were smell something funny going on and respond to it. At least 88-year old Walter Cronkite and a lot of Freepers did.

Maybe Joe should get his nose out of Tweety and Scarface Scarborough's behind...or better yet, stay there and be done with him.

I see him as the next Patrick Cadell.

5. He was on NOW last night and says that the Deanism that
he was a big part of -- is the wave of the future -- Dean-dems will not tolerate Clintonism (or anything similar) -- i.e., send health care to the Hill and see it die by econ power of corps. Says he is as big supporter od Kerry, but is in wait and see mode. Anyone else catch it?

7. I'm Sensing Sour Grapes
He's obviously on the outs with the Kerrys and still burns at what happened in Iowa. I also think he feels HE, not Howard Dean was the story with the rise of the Internet in campaign organizing and fundraising.

One problem, Joe...it's only a big story when your candidate wins. Either pull with the rest of us, or stand back for the next couple days.

Cheers!

24. Look
I am voting for and am supporter of Kerry. But I don't wanna hear Dean bashing or how Clinton was so great. Let me tell you something.

1. Howard Dean campaign revitalized the democratic party with their innovative viewpoint, internet being one of them. I hope Dean has a BIG role in the cabinet in terms of environment and what not.

2. About Clinton, if the democrat party wants to move on to being the mainstream we hope to we, instead the one that's been getting its ass kicked just about every election since '96, its time to MOVE PAST the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky and Clinton politics.

The democrat presidents we wanna think about are Kennedy & FDR, not Bill Clinton, certainly not to bash deaniacs.

28. That is NOT what he said.
Please get a transcript or link to the audio if available. I watched it.

He recommended that the internet should be involved in order to get health care passed instead of just leaving in the hands of a congress who will never pass it.

He is like a lot of us, he is supporting Kerry but in waiting mode for the future of the Democratic party. That is because as he points out that the party has allowed lobbyists to dictate the bills. And they have.

13. We all have no idea
Blogs, on both sides, are quiet about this because no one knows how to take it. That is the truth. I think it is a wash, but Kerry has to make sure Bush doesn't use this to scare people into voting for him.

31. What is the "common goal" after Tuesday?
More of the same from the party? That is what Trippi is saying. There will be no more of the same, and there are many waiting to be sure of it.

I get upset with him at times, but he is right about the need for the Democrats to address issues like this up front.

18. Trippi is tripping!
Yes, the Internet was key in this election, but not for the reasons he thinks. After all, the Internet didn't nominate nor elect Howard Dean.

The fund raising is one thing, and organizing is another thing, but what the Internet really did for the Dems came from the blogs. The blogs challenged the established news media in ways no one could have foretold. Through the blogs, the Internet elevated stories that would have never made it otherwise.

Witness this past week with the explosives scandal, and even with Bush giving the bird.

he retired him. He's been horrid ever since he left the Dean campaign. I really do question which side of the fence he's on. I DID see the MSNBC interview a few minutes ago.

21. He must be auditioning for a job with CNN or FOX- He's shameful
He ought to be ashamed for spreading the Repub spin that everyone in middle America will now vote for Bush since Osama dared to criticize our great leader and that will make everyone rally around our Commander in Chief since we only have one Commander and that's Bush and not Kerry. Go away and shut up Joe, you are only serving your interests with that kind of drivel, when every Democrat I've talked to today is even more determined that Kerry become our Commander in Chief since Bush has been such a miserable failure at 'protecting' us and in fact has endangered Americans.

The GOP owns this story, and all we're offering is indignation and complicated explanations.

Kerry needs to pound Bush on his failure to capture bin Laden.

33. Here's what I wrote...
So, Joe Trippi says the blogs are quiet about the latest Osama tape. Nun uh!

Two simple points. He is obviously not dead. And he is obviously not on the run. No man on the run looks so groomed with such good lighting. The Bush administration's case is a lie on both points. Surpise, surprise.

Beyond that, the timing was expected. But the message was simple. Stay out of our culture. I, for one, am ready to do just that.

34. Is there a link or video at MSNBC? I can't find one.
I missed the interview, but I would like to have clarified what he said. I saw him misquoted once on this thread from his NOW appearance, and I want to be sure he said this today...that the blogs were silent. I thought that was yesterday before anyone knew what to make of it.

I am not a huge Trippi fan, but fair is fair. He was very correct in what he said on NOW, and to see anyone misquoted makes me cross.

Link, anyone?
