i went and got my haircut yesterday... |
|
and I could over hear a gentleman cutting another guys hair and they were discussing the election...living on this side of the state of Michigan its unusual to be discussing anything REAL becasue the fundies are high here..but they were discussing Kerry and how stupid some of these people really are to still be supporting this guy...
I just don't understand how its close but I think the unpollable people are the key...its an uncertain factor that helps the Kerry team...
also...I asked my husband if he could really honestly name one good republican program OTHER than Abe Lincolns end of slavery...and he couldn't..what is THEIR big claim to fame??? I mean we came up with Medicare, social security, and other programs that help the nation...sorry I am rambling I am fired up today...all wound up about this election..I am chomping to go vote

1. Not to stereotype or anything but ... |

Doesn't it always seem like it's the rightwingers having the loud political discussions in public? That seems to be my experience, anyway. I tend to think it's because they always simply ASSUME everyone else agrees with them, while Dems recogize and respect that there are differences of opinion in the world -- even though we know deep down that we're right and they're so, SO wrong!

5. Loud public 'discourse' |
|
It's like little kids walking down a dark street, about to shit their pants they're so scared of the dark, and talking loudly to each other with the whites of their eyes really showing big!
Also:
"It's so irritating to have to listen to folks who think they know EVERYTHING to those of us who DO."

4. In defense of us former real Republicans-in-exile... |

How about the EPA?
How about Teddy Roosevelt's trustbusting?
I could name a whole lot more. But, unfortunately, nothing even worth a moment's nod of recognition has come out of the party at any level since the extremists took control. They've run us liberals out, and they have all but run the last moderates out, and now they're working on ridding themselves of the traditional conservatives, too.
Don't mistake what calls itself the Republican Party today with the Republican Party of a few decades ago. The Republican Party was, over a period of time, subverted from within by a very well organized group of neofascists. These same people are working on subverting America right now.

Gets nothing done, with only some RARE exceptions. Hate to see any party 'highjacked'. Why don't they go off an form their own party? Because they want to USE the existing organization and momentum instead of start 'all over again.' They should be like like evangelical Baptists. If they don't like their 'pastor' or the way the church is going, they split off and name someone their 'pastor' and start a new church. They even raise their own money for the new church building.

7. NEVER, in my entire lifetime |

have I seen as high an interest by the people as there is in this election. On smoke breaks (sorry) all the talk is political! This dwarfs all previous elections in the last 50 years. EVERYONE is talking about it, in fact, I think you have to be willfully ignorant to not partake of this political buffet. Oh wait! Bush supporters who are willfully misinformed. But far and away the word is out there that we must for the sake of this nation make Bush a one termer. THAT is what is spiking interest. I am beginning to believe that people think their lives depend on it!
