place like hell is people like them.

Wow, I am really offended by his son's act. I became a Christian by going to a Billy Graham event and to hear his son preaching stuff like that is just disgusting. I wish daddy had a talk w/jr. I don't think Jesus would appreciate that kind of behavior.

5. I thought Billy Graham stayed away from politics |
|
If his son is using his father's name to influence people, I'd be pissed as hell.
I always respected Billy Graham and I hope this election doesn't change that.

:wtf: they're doing. Isn't there a lawsuit against the NAACP for allegedly promoting Kerry?
They should have their tax-exemption status revoked.

Billy Graham's son isn't tax exempt. I'm guessing his calls were funded by a separate, taxable organization, not his ministry.

Am I wrong? Found this? http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week549/news.html"Graham heads his father's group, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, as well as his own relief agency, Samaritan's Purse."

17. No, you're right, Franklin Graham is a minister |
|
But ministers aren't tax-exempt. Their ministry is, but they aren't.
As far as I know, there's no law that limits a person's private political activities based on being an employee of a religious organization, as long as those activities are separate.

7. Anyone has Franklin Graham's email address? |
|
I think we should all send a mass mail re that. I know a lot of churches are advocating Christians to vote for *** because of moral values. (I guess lying for them is a great moral value) If I go to church tomorrow, and the pastor starts spewing that kind of crap, I don't know if I could hold my temper!

15. Billy Grab'em ENDORSED $hrub in 2000! |
|
He stood holding $hrub's hand, flanked by Laura The Xanax Queen and his son Franklin, and said something cute like: "I really can't endorse either candidate, but I think you can see where my heart is."
This incident is in the excellent documentary "With God On Our Side," currently playing on Sundance Channel.
Every American should see that film, even if you have to rent it. You get to see a lot of the right-wing creatures who usually stay safely under their rocks. The first hour or so is a history of the Religious Right, and the rest is about their influence on $hrub.
Remember Morton Blackwell, who designed the Purple Heart Band-Aids at the Repug convention? He's in it. Along with Paul Weyrich, Tim La Haye, Ralph Reed and all the other theocrats.
Billy Graham has been nothing but a shameless power-whore for about 50 years. There are several good biographies about him which point this out in no uncertain terms.

Billy Graham and the bushies have been very tight for years and years. Supposedly, it was counseling with Graham that caused W to be "born again." Yeah, that took really well, didn't it?

At the Behest of HW & Babs, Billy Graham talked Bush into setting the presidency as his ambition! He got him to stop drinking & accept Jesus into his heart! He's a CLOSE FRIEND of the Bush Family!
Graham & his son ARE THE ENEMY.

20. Quoted from Kitty Kelley: |
|
This is directly quoted from The Family:
George W had previously debated the issue of who goes to heaven with his mother. He pointed to a passage in his daily bible readings that said "only Christians had a place in heaven." Barbara disagreed.
"Surely, God will accept others," she said.
"Mom, here's what the New Testament says," insisted George, who read the passage aloud.
Barbara picked up the phone and called Billy Graham.
Graham sided with George. "From a personal perspective, I agree with what George is saying," he said. "The New Testament has been my guide. But I want to caution you both. Don't play God. Who are you two to be God?"
Over the course of their lives Graham and George W. had struggled with negative feelings toward Jews. As a student at Andover, George had played a prank on a Jewish student. Billy Graham had demonstrated raw anti-Semitism in a taped conversation with Richard Nixon on February 1, 1972, in which he characterized "Jewish control" of the American media as a "stranglehold."
"This stranglehold has got to be broken or this country's going down the drain," he told the President. Later in the 90 minute conversation, Graham said, "A lot of the Jews are great friends of mine. They swarm around me and are friendly to me because they know that I'm friendly with Israel. But they don't know how I really feel about what they are doing to this country."
When the tapes were released in 2002, the Southern Baptist evangelist issued a public apology for his remarks.
