4. Go Packers Go!!!!
http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp

<snip>
What do we make of all this? Nothing. We see it as coincidence, as evidence that anyone who tries long and hard enough can find apparent patterns in any collection of data. But for those who believe in this sort of thing, the Redskins' last home game before the 2 November 2004 election is a Halloween Day contest against the Green Bay Packers — Republican supporters will be rooting for the Redskins, and Democratic supporters will become Cheeseheads for a day.

14. Fail To The Redskins
I know, I can't do it either. Rooting for Bret Farve is like rooting for a root canal. But then the vision of a bawling Mike Ditka comes to mind as the Packers win and I think I'll be just fine...and you should, too. Hell, it's only one game and the Bears already beat the Packers...and now probably won't win a game again for years. Gotta take one for the team, ya know. LOL.

Delicious irony time...I know Favre is a Bushbot...I wonder what would go through his thick cranium if he knows about this story and if it'll affect his game. I sure hope not!

GO PACKERS!!!

10. ANYONE ON THIS BOARD
...who saw OLBERMAN last night WANTS THE REDSKINS TO LOSE. EVEN REDSKINS FANS!

Apparently, when the Redskins win, the incumbent party wins. When they lose, the challenger wins. This has happened for the past seventeen elections!

12. As a lifelong Vikings Fan
I can't believe how much I'm pulling for the Pack! The last couple of weeks the GB offense has been hittin' and stickin' like Popeye's fried Chicken! I think the Redskins are doomed.

After that though...I hope the Packers lose every game! ;)

15. I hope Favre doesn't throw it
I'm a huge Packer fan, and they should win this game. I just hope Favre (an avid GOPer) doesn't decide to throw Rove a bone.

They need this game to get to .500 and to have any chance for the playoffs, though, so I think they'll show up.

19. Is he?? Damn... well can't be as avid as Manning
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 04:01 PM by LiberalFighter
Peyton Manning gave to gw* according to USA Today.

I checked Brett Favre and didn't find him contributing anything in FUNDRACE or FEC.

The only possibility might be someone named Deanna Favre contributing $250 to a congressional campaign. That doesn't suggest someone in Brett's income level as a serious political activist.

16. If it's any consolation...
I would dutifully take off my Cheesehead and don an old McMahon jersey if the burdon was on the Bears.

Of course, afterward I'd shower about 8 times...
