We at the DU need to formulate a "to do" list for President Kerry

for when he assumes power.

I'm certain he knows about the DU, and is no doubt aware of the calibre of the members here. I believe if we were to submit to him a list of what the average politically aware democrat thinks should be urgent priorities, it might lend some weight to what he plans to do.

This list may be added to (AND taken from) by the membership. At some point it should be formalized by someone aware of how to do such things, and officially submitted to the Kerry presidency.

I believe President Kerry should be prepared to make use of all the tricks * used to ram things through, including the Executive Order. They started it, he shouldn't be shy about using the power the presidency has been given!

I'll start off with just a few of the more obvious priorities (listed in no particular order. The list may be prioritized later.)

Please note, submissions should be limited to reasonable, DOABLE items.

Dismantle the Patriot Act
Arrest Ken Lay (Even after * pardons him)
Start an investigation into oil company price gouging
Stop any potential drilling in Alaska and other protected areas
Release the ENTIRE 9/11 Commission report
Open all previously classified (by the * cabal) files

1. Fix the media-make the FCC accountable, repeal the Telecommunications Act

to bring control of local stations, both tv and radio, back into the hands of local communities. Bring back the Fairness Doctrine.

is the only reform we need. A truly free press will set upon the rest of society's ills like a pitbull on a porkchop.

2. Select Good People...

Make sure the people that are put into positions are NOT from corporations that stand to profit...I know this is pretty common sense but had to put it in here.

Roll back those tax cuts so we have the cash we need.

JOBS - get the freggin jobs going...do the things you said you would do to help create jobs here and make it less profitable for companies to outsource jobs.

HEALTHCARE - get kids covered!!!

FAIRNESS ACT - get this back into place and we straighten out the media and prevent the crap that's been happening.

IRAQ - get the fuck out and bring out troops home NOW...not in 2 years...just freggin leave!!! Train their people outside the country and let THEM go back in...no more of this crap of us staying in there...and blow up ALL the embassy's/military things we are building...just get the fuck out!!!!

HALLIBURTON - Immediately cancel all their contracts and ban them from getting any contracts for 10 years. Launch an investigation into all of their contracts and how they were obtained. FBI is already working on this...back them up :)

NUCLEAR (not Nucular) development - IMMEDIATELY cancel the programs that are building bunker busting nuclear weapons...also start a HUGE phase out of nuclear weapons in case at some point in the future another freeper gets in office and tries to use them.

FIRST Press briefing - Put HELEN up front and let her ask as many questions as she wants until she's tired of asking them...THEN let anyone else ask. She is WELL overdue and deserves better treatment than chimp gave her...I know she has earned it!

I will think of more but these are a damn good start...get the ball rolling...start picking out your transition team...its almost here!!!
