OK.

I got a couple of things going for me.
At 6'5" and 250, I can be an intimidating presence when I want to be.
I'm a native New Yorker, born and raised in one of the tougher parts of the big city.
I've been around for awhile so I've seen a bunch in my almost 50 years.
I don't suffer fools easily.

But, I am reasonable, rational, open-minded and generally friendly.
If you push my buttons however, the New Yorker in me surfaces and I'll dress you down real quick like.

Now, I live in the mid-west, Kansas City, Missouri to be exact and I work in Kansas.
Missouri is so back wards in some areas (voted over 70% to ban same sex marriages) half the time I think I am in Mississippi.
Kansas is even worse. What's the matter with Kansas, indeed.

So, last night I am at a party and I have a Denver Bronco sweatshirt on and a Kerry/Edwards cap.

The sweatshirt is to piss Chief fans off, and the cap is to show my support for our next truly elected President.

This idiot rolls up to me, I don't know him, but he's got about 20 beers in him and he's feeling brave.

"Broncos SUCK"! He says.
OK, no problem here, I get that all the time.
"Win more than one playoff game every thirty years asshole and then you can talk smack to me" is my response.

Then through the beer goggles he spies my Kerry cap.
"Kerry's a faggot"! he says to me.
I respond..."Well it takes one to know one".
Now he's mad.

"BUSH is gonna kick his faggot ass on Tuesday" he says while jamming his finger into my chest.

Now I was sitting down, perched on a stool, minding my own business talking to my friends wife when this guy decided he was going to fuck with me.

So, I stand up and quickly determine that I have about 80 lbs and 5 inches on this asshat.

I respond by saying...

"Listen jerk-off, I'm not one of those cute and cuddly liberals, I'm the kind of liberal that if you don't get out of my face, I'm going to put my fist through yours"

To which he said...

Nothing. He turned and just about ran out the door taking his fat greasy haired wife with him.

This is the attitude I am going to take with me to the polling place on Tuesday.

I would advise all of you to do the same.

We have the next four years to be nice.
For the next four days however, stay out of my grill or you will be pulling my size thirteen out of your ass.

I'm sick and tired of dumb ass Republicans that think they can push us around.

I just started a ji-jitsu class and I have taken Boxing lessons for several years. Now I am more interested in Ju-jitsu and Mui Thi. They are really good work outs and a great way to relive stress.

14. I love your story -- much like my husband

My husband is a short guy who calls himself a "male feminist" -- liberal, smart, successful, articulate, respected in his field.

And yet, he grew up in a working class Italian immigrant neighborhood in Bridgeport, Ct., is a Navy vet, has a shaved head, looks rather like a drill sergeant, and is tough as nails.

Most of the time, he's like a comedian -- everybody from the cashiers at the supermarket to strangers next to us in line LOVE him; and he cries at movies and indulges children. BUT -- if anybody messes with him, especially about politics, he turns into such a mean mf he scares people twice his size.

I posted a story awhile ago about how he dealt with a guy who pulled up next to him and started yelling about his Kerry bumperstickers -- he wasn't polite -- and some people criticized his manners as inappropriate.

I can understand that. I'm a small woman who cringes at confrontations -- but I have to say I get vicarious delight from people like you guys! :)
