An interesting little demonstration in North Little Rock today. |
|
At one of the busiest intersections in town ... JFK Blvd and McCain Blvd. Ka-zillions of cars from all directions and long lights. There were 20-30 demonstrators, dressed in black wearing black-and-white makeup turning their faces into skulls and they all sported signs ...

I watched while my daughter ran my son's scrips into Walgreens. They got many waves and honks while I observed. When I left, I, too, waved and honked. I just found this kinda interesting.

Nice theater.
I think there's at least a chance for the Natural State this year. I'll never forget when Mississippi put Carter over the top in '76.

Thank you for the encouraging and entertaining report!
Do you think we will take Arkansas this year? It seems possible to me, but being an un-Reconstructed Federal of wholly urban inclination, my judgement on the point may not be so good....

despite some clever strategies by the national gop (i.e. not putting enough money against Senator Lincoln to fully engage her organization the way it would be engaged were the threat to her seat more significant), I have seen more and more Kerry support spring up, more with each passing week. Signs, protests, huge increases in registration, huge early voting ... the signs are all good.
And remember, Arkansas produced some fine ones ... Wilbur Mills, J.W. Fulbright, Dale Bumpers, David Pryor, Vic Snyder and of course, Bill Clinton. In Arkansas, if the Bush edge in the 3rd Congressional district can be held under 5 or 6 points, the Wonder State could well swing for Kerry, particularly with Clinton hitting the 2nd Congressional District tomorrow.
It could happen.
