Bush Campaign goes for the stampede strategy
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 06:05 PM by troublemaker
The Rovian "expectations become results" strategy is in full effect as every Republican shill tries to proclaim that the OBL tape means a Bush landslide, hoping to produce an expectations stampede. Presumably their "herd" has gone so far astray that a stampede is their only hope.

If current polling holds up showing that people are less frightened then they are PISSED OFF to be seeing OBL looking like George Hamilton at Cannes we will be in a superb position tomorrow to tee the fuck OFF on Bush/Cheney for politicizing the OBL tape. No media whore can comprehend that the tape helps Kerry. They think we caught a bad break with the tape so they will allow almost any sort of high pressure indignation from the 'obviously crippled' Kerry campaign.

If you like being angry (which nobody should...) you can check out the gleeful collective thank-you note to Osama that NRO has become. They are both delusional and beneath contempt.
"Had a short conversation with... longtime GOP operative today. Talked about the bin Laden tape, and his analysis echoed much of what you had seen elsewhere - this makes terrorism THE issue of the election, and Bush is now likely to win in something approaching a landslide."

"Whatever hope John Kerry had of closing the gap ended when Osama bin Laden became part of the national conversation about this election. As I've said a hundred times Kerry wins 10 states, plus Hawaii (maybe)."

1. You can only pull a quarter out of someone's ear so many times
before they are wise to the trick. Rove has run out of fresh bullshit. All he has left is dried up buffalo chips...

4. Or, as in the case with KKKarl and Co., you can only pull so many
dirty tricks out of your ass and then it gets to be a tired old rerun.

No, this does not help bush* and it just amazes me how many people think that it might. The guy just gave the Bronks salute to the bush* administration on the world stage. This not only makes him a laughing stock here, he's become the international poster boy for fucking incompetence.

3. Stampede Strategy?
For a second I thought he was going to have a rodeo in Iowa or something. Damn that would have been scary. ;-)

6. Kerry did NOT enter this race to hand bush a victory

This race is being run to win.

Kerry is well aware of the fact that bush has brownshirt cult members -- giving these idiots 4 more years will only embolden them toward more power grabs and to fulfill their own agenda. The cult member -- the religious right -- have projected their image of who they think bush is. Even when he is weak and acts like an idiot -- they can only see their own projection of a man who will usher in the end times.

The reality is that these are just like the people who were preaching that Jesus would return in 1844 or any other cult group who knows that the "end is near".

Can these people be forced to give up their vision of their perfect world? A few perhaps -- but some cult members will never let go of their illusions.

This is a must win race for Kerry -- and he is wise enough to know it. And I do believe that all the tricks Rove has pulled -- the American Asama -- and now the release of this video -- with bush given a heads up about its contents long before Kerry -- all of these tricks will fail.

People can only live with sustained fear for so long -- and then the system learned to adapt -- most people become fine tuned to warnings that are real and those that are false. The ones who try to continue the reign of fear are cult members and those that control the cult members.

Rove has had some psychology -- but he didn't bother to go past the Intro courses.

And still word-for-word the same. Kudos to you, sir. You've been busy. Too bad you won't be around for long.

8. This will play to his hardcore base; they will feel safe with being afraid
...even if a good portion of them think that they are "more macho" than the sane electorate.

Problem: any momentum generated blows on the backs of people who are already voting for him, and already will vote at a near 100% clip.

Maybe he'll get 1 undecided voter in Lake Tahoe to choose him.
