Bush camp: "We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days."
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 06:19 PM by Stephanie

Not feeling sick enough to your stomach yet? Check out these ruthless, disgusting remarks by the Bush/Cheney team, in response to the bin Laden tape.

"We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."

A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush."

He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.

5. Are we Bush's constitutents or his hostages?
I'll say it again: Can we have the election NOW? I cannot stand to be held hostage by these bastards for one more fucking day.

Seriously. Do they not get what this is going to sound like to people? "Hey! America is at risk again! BONUS!" I mean for crying out loud, if that's their attitude, why should any of us believe that they would EVER get Bin Laden? After all by their own admission they're better off with him out there taunting us.

Of course Bush admitted this early with his stupid fucking "trifecta" joke, but if anyone out ther ehasn't picked up on this yet, here it is again: our loss is Bush's gain. And you WANT another four years of this extortionist?

:argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :grr: :grr: :grr:

Why don't people get that it is NOT GOOD to have a president in office who thinks he does better when we're doing worse?!

 :grr: :argh:

Ah well,

6. disgusting but not a shock...
...the Bush people just want to win, scaring people, make them think they will be hurt or killed is what Bush is all about. They work by trying to intimidate people,I think however its not quite as effective as they would like.Much like his actions in other areas jobs, health care, ext.Bush's "I'm strong on security" thing doesn't really stand up to any kind of scrutiny

7. What else is new - George Will said Bush should pedal "fear"
because it is what he does best and what he needs to do to win. We have a lying mass-murderer in the WH - all he can do to justify his existence is talk more about killing. Bush is as close to Satan as we will likely ever come.

9. keep the fear card visible on the table....
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 06:25 PM by mike_c
Remind people of 9-11, and by association how highly they regarded Bush back when he had those seventy percent approval ratings. There was a real feel-good sense of community and common purpose post 9-11, too. Real deep feelings there for a lot of people.

This is a masterpiece of propaganda.

No wonder Bush has been smiling even though it looked like his ship was taking on water.

13. I'd really like to know who these anonymous Bush campaign officials are
How do they get to go around making remarks like that without revealing their names.

In the print edition, Helen Kennedy's name is in the byline for this along with DeFrank's. Online they only give his name.

19. Anybody who does not see how pathetic
this make bush seem as a president, should be given this example.

This will show how patently ludicrous it would be to think it's logical to vote for the president who has made it possible for the one single individual responsible for the worst terror attack on US soil to be able to appear on television 4 years later ... because this president was too effing incompetent to destroy him when he was right in the military's sights.

Using this above logic.....If Nicole Brown Simpson came back to life, pointed her finger right at Simpson and said that's the mother effer who killed me, Simpson would be tickled to death to have that happen.

Yeah right.

Thank God Osama Bin Laden is still alive.

Too cowardly to reveal their names, then nonetheless boast about frightening Americans into voting Bush. SHAME.

22. Write LTTEs On This & The McCain Statement!!!
McCain called the Bin Laden tape "Very Helpful". This senior GOP strategist called it a "little gift"...

So WHY is the GOP taking "little gifts" from Osama? Why do they find it "helpful" to have the murderer of 3000 Americans free to make taunting videotapes?

I suggest a heavy LTTE campaign, weaving in the above points, to the national media as well as local papers, particularly in swing states. I have already fired off mine, but I'm not going to post it- you've gotta come up with your own. Good luck.
