New theme song for Repubs
"The Last Resort" by the Eagles. These verses stand out:

We satisfy our endless needs and
justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny
and in the name of God

4. Draft Dodger Rag
By Phil Ochs

I'm just a typical American boy from a typical American town
I believe in God and Senator Dodd and keeping old Castro down
And when it came my time to serve I knew better dead than red
But when I got to my old draft board, buddy, this is what I said:

Sarge, I'm only eighteen, I got a ruptured spleen
And I always carry a purse
I got eyes like a bat, my feet are flat, and my asthma's
getting worse
Oh think of my career, my sweetheart dear, and my poor old
invalid aunt
Besides, I ain't no fool, I'm a goin' to school, and I'm
working in a defense plant

I've got a dislocated disc and a racked up back
I'm allergic to flowers and bugs
And when the bombshell hits, I get epileptic fits
And I'm addicted to a thousand drugs
I got the weakness woes, and I can't touch my toes
I can hardly reach my knees
And if the enemy came close to me
I'd probably start to sneeze

(chorus)

I hate Chou En Lai, and I hope he dies,
but one thing you gotta see
That someone's gotta go over there
and that someone isn't me
So I wish you well, Sarge, give 'em Hell
Yeah, Kill me a thousand or so
And if you ever get a war without blood and gore
Well I'll be the first to go

7. Ack
I wasn't hoping so much to get other people's ideas for new theme songs as I was seeking comments regarding how the Eagles predicted the apocalypse when they recorded Hotel California all those years ago.

But that rag thing was funny though.

9. Yeah, cuz they are running out of Theme songs
"Still The One" has been pulled from the Repuke set list, as one of the song's writers is a Democrat miffed that * never asked permission.

Campaign Drops 'Still The One' After Writer Complains AP

WASHINGTON -- The Bush campaign abruptly stopped using the 1970's hit "Still the One" at campaign rallies Friday after the songwriter, no fan of the president, claimed the Republicans never got permission.

John Hall, a former Democratic county legislator in upstate New York, co-wrote the song and recorded it with his band Orleans in 1976. He complained on Friday morning about the campaign playing the song at the president's events.

(snip)

Hall, still a working musician at 56, wrote "Still the One" with his then-wife, Johanna D. Hall. The two, as well as surviving members of the band, are supporters of Democratic Sen. John Kerry and didn't want their work used to promote Bush's re-election.

"I'm not just some guy that's stoned out and happened to write a song, and even if I were, it would still be a problem, because you should always ask permission to use the work," Hall said.

10. fool on the hill
DAY AFTER DAY
ALONE ON A HILL
THE MAN WITH THE FOOLISH GRIN
IS KEEPING PERFECTLY STILL

BUT NOBODY WANTS TO KNOW HIM
THEY CAN SEE THAT HE´S JUST A FOOL
AND HE NEVER GIVES AN ANSWER

BUT THE FOOL ON THE HILL
SEES THE SUN GOING DOWN
AND THE EYES IN HIS HEAD
SEE THE WORLD SPINNING ´ROUND

AND NOBODY SEEMS TO LIKE HIM
THEY CAN TELL WHAT HE WANTS TO DO
AND HE NEVER SHOWS HIS FEELINGS

BUT THE FOOL ON THE HILL...

HE NEVER LISTENS TO THEM
HE KNOWS THEY´RE THE FOOL
THEY DON´T LIKE HIM

BUT THE FOOL ON THE HILL...

13. That song is complimentary to the Fool.
I don't think we're misunderestimating Chimpy boy one iota.

17. Okay then I nominate "Shallow end of the gene pool"
By the Austin Lounge Lizards.

My Daddy was a man of letters
My Mama was a head of state
And when they got their chromosomes together
They gave me all of their recessive traits
I'm an embarrassment to evolution
My disposition is unstable and cruel
My blood's a catastrophic blend
'Cause I'm from the shallow end of the gene pool
My IQ is a negative number
I've got a sense of humor no one can stand
And my development was seriously encumbered
By playing music with the Lounge Lizards band
I'm a social director's nightmare
At dinner parties I just babble and drool
It's not easy making friends
When you're from the shallow end of the gene pool
Chorus:
I'm from the shallow end of the gene pool
My x-rays make the doctors laugh
When they tried to chart my EEG waves
Well I wasn't even on the graph
Biological research is booming
They're making breakthroughs like you wouldn't believe
They say genetic engineering in humans
Will someday soon be a reality
I'm gonna get me a DNA transplant
They're gonna rearrange my molecules
Some natural laws will have to bend
To get me from the shallow end of the gene pool

11. Lawyers, Guns and Money Lyrics - Warren Zevon
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 08:44 PM by Rebellious Republica
Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck

Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The shit has hit the fan

Send lawyers, guns and money...

19. "Idiot Son of an Asshole" by NOFX
Idiot Son Of An Asshole lyrics

He's not smart, a C student
And that's after buying his way into school
Beady eyes, and he's kinda dyslexic
Can he read? No one's really quite sure
He signs stuff and he executes people
Maybe that's why, he doesn't have any friends
Cocaine and a little drunk driving
Doesn't matter, when you're the Commander in Chief.

Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole

Put on some make-up, turn on the 8-Track,
I'm putting a week back on the shelf,
Suddenly I'm the President, of the United States,
But they I woke up, and realized I'm still me.

He's too dumb, to eat pretzels, apparently smart enough to fix an election.
Moved boldly into the White House,
but most people voted against him.
He likes naps, He's good at naptime, A couple of naps and then a nap and then he's ready for bed,
He may be from Bush decent, He's always gonna be unpresident

Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole

He's our president!
