1. I don't have any data
but I have never seen it available at our store, and there are like 15-20 copies, in a farm town!

2. You don't suppose they've been kidnapped by repugs?

I can imagine repugs renting F 9/11 and then not returning it until after the election. Anyone suppose that's happening?

3. No data, but wonderful anecdeotal evidence...
I normally get my movies through Netflix but my timing was off and I needed a movie. I live in a tiny, conservative town (pop 1,000) with a teeny tiny movie store. I was surprised to see a large F911 poster in the front window advertising the free rental. They even had a sticky note stuck on the shelf where it was. So I grabbed a ticket for it with my other movie (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, btw, which was awesome) and went up to the counter. As she rang me up I asked the clerk if a lot of people were taking advantage of the free rental. She didn't seem real happy about it, but she she said 'Yeah, a _lot_ of people'.
As I watched it (again), it hit me that he is a fricking genius for doing this. The people in my town are the type of people who didn't go see it because it didn't play nearby, and probably wouldn't pay to rent it. But they won't pass up a FREE offer! So they're checking it out. And maybe they were planning on voting Repug because that's what they were brought up to do but didn't really care, or weren't gonna vote at all, or were 'undecided', and they see this movie and they start to wonder just enough....hey, wait a minute, this bush guy is screwing all of us, and he's just another rich SOB, and that Lila Lipscomb made a lot of sense, and.....on Tuesday they find themselves in the booth voting for Kerry!

That's how I see it. Michael Moore is reaching the unreachable this way and he's a fricking Genius!
