My sister travels a lot for her job. She is a product rep for some pretty cool, new medical devices. Anyways, she has traveled quite a bit to states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin throughout the last few months.
Anyway, today her and I (Boston residents) went to the Red Sox victory parade, we are both fanatics. Before it started, we got to talking about politics and the election Tuesday. She is basically pretty independent politically, leans Democrat. She voted for Gore last time, hated Bush (and still does) but liked McCain in the primaries and would have voted for him over Gore. She is voting for Kerry this time.
She reports to me everywhere she goes, its ALL about Kerry. All these swing states she has visited she sees only Kerry signs, hears talk amongst people almost exclusively about Kerry, can palpably see the excitement around her, on the radio stations, in the restaurants, everywhere. She said when she went to these places and there were all kinds of indications everywhere she went that it was all about Kerry. She said at that point KNEW Kerry would win. She is convinced.
Sure this is anecdoctal, but sometimes you can just feel something in the air. To her, in visiting these swing states, she knows the polls show tight races, but she can just feel Kerry is gonna win them all.
Anyway, that and the parade pumped me up!!!
