Repubs think OBL is "A GIFT". Have we gotten the message out?
I've emailed all the Sunday news shows and ABC, CBS, NBC evening news regarding these despicable comments. They might as well just come out and say, "Thank you Osama, we worship the ground you walk on. Without you Bush doesn't have a chance."

Warning: Reading these comments may cause severe illness.

"It's very helpful to the president," contended Bush ally Sen. John McCain. McCain <snip> said the terrorists' videotape "focuses America's attention on the war on terrorism."

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20041030/ap_on_el_pr/campaign_rdp_18

"We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."

A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush."

He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.

And if that's not bad enough: Kerry spokesman, Mike McCurry, rejected Republican assertions that the Democrat was playing politics with the bin Laden tape.

I want to see these idiots try to defend these statements.

1. A gift like "2 months free at the Betty Ford Clinic"
It's a gift, so at first you're happy.
Then you realize there's a message there for you.
After rehab, you realize that gift was the best thing you could have received.

2. Apparently the public doesn't. The latest CNN online poll...
...indicates that most people think the OBL video helps Kerry or doesn't matter.

Kerry on!

24.

3. Best short description I've seen is on AMERICABlog
I can't say this any better. I borrowed this for my blog and suggest you do the same:
Osama is a "good" "gift," GOP & Bush campaign say

by John in DC - 10/30/2004 04:54:21 PM

The Bush campaign has called it a "good" thing that Osama bin Laden is still alive and kicking and threatening to make American blood fill the streets our our country, according to a story in today's NY Daily News. And a senior GOP strategist has called Osama's reappearance and threats to kill thousands more Americans "a little gift."

This election is over, folks.

George Bush's campaign thinks Osama being alive and threatening to kill even more Americans is "good." A top GOP strategist thinks Osama planning to launch an even-bigger-September-11 is "a little gift." I'm glad the 3,000 who died on September 11 were able to give this good gift to the Bush campaign, after all, without their deaths Bush wouldn't have this good gift to enjoy only 3 days before the election.

How serious a matter is this? Imagine if John Kerry's people had called Osama plotting to kill thousands of Americans "good"? Imagine if a top Democratic strategist had called Osama bin Laden "a little gift"?

This needs to be the talk of the Internet. Make George Bush explain to the American people why Osama's threats to make blook run in American streets are "good" "gifts".

4. This is good, but my hope is to get mainstream exposure...
For people whose idea of following news is watching 30 minutes while they eat dinner.

Kerry needs to hit hard on this. "Ladies and gentlemen, as president, I will make this monster does not release anymore 'little gifts.'"

9. This is what I want the Sunday chatter shows to focus on because
it is disgusting.

I haven't seen any reactions to the OBL tapes from the 9/11 families but they should be pissed as hell. I hope they get some comments out tomorrow.

16. I know. What they are saying is bad enough.
But that they openly admit OBL is a benefit to Bush? I wonder if it's arrogance or stupidity.

Or here's a thought. Maybe they want Dems to pick up on it, thereby making absolutely sure Bush loses. :tinfoilhat:

6. Kerry could hit this one out of the park if he wanted to
Kerry:

"The other day we heard allies of George Bush call Osama Bin Laden's reemergence a 'gift.' This is George Bush's idea of how to protect America - invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, and let the guy who did go free."

8. Creey Freeper quote
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 01:22 AM by SoCalDemGrrl
While lurking on free republic this evening I came across this disgusting quote from a freeper:

"Putting the fear of death into the American people is going to help us. The VP couldn't have done it better himself".

That pretty much sums up the Bush crew's disdain for the American people doesn't it??

10. Most freepers hate civil liberties and freedom in general
Many of them would rather live in a taliban-like fascist state.

17. They think they are just like their idols Bush and Cheny.
They don't give a fat flying fuck about screwing anyone over for their own benefit. Put the fear of death into the American people? Hey so what, they get their insecure little rocks off that way.

But the irony is that they are the ones getting screwed over by the Bush Administration and it goes right over their stupid, ignorant little pin-heads. They honestly believe they have the respect of Bush and Cheny. Can you believe it?

Hey Freep Drive-bys, I have a surprise for you: Google "extra-chromosome" and "karl rove"

It'll crack you up.
