What would the pundits say? :) Does Kerry think he can win Texas? The Bush campaign would be dazed and confused and it would be all over talk radio and cable TV that Kerry thinks he can win Texas !

How much publicity would it be worth? Could he afford to take a few hours away from his normal schedule? It would blow their minds!

But as president-elect he will have a lot of time to visit you in Texas.

10. It would turn the repugs on their ears and make news coast to coast
Everyone would think he knew something no one else did.

I actually think it would be a bold and brilliant move on his part to do something like that in the final hours of the election.

14. Chimp did it in 2000 with California
I thought it was a great strategy, because if they "think" he actually had a shot at California he must have the election wrapped up.

Kerry should go to Austin.

17. Terrible idea and very Rovian
You are using Karl Rove's theory of inevablibility. The problem with the theory is that it doesn't work. It assumes that people will flock to the winner. People with that kind of sheep mentality have already gone Bush. No one is going to say "Kerry is in Austin? I should vote for him. He's the winner." Someone from Ohio is much more likely to see Kerry in Ohio and say "He visited my state last on election day, he cares about my state."

21. You are assuming chimp takes texas...what if Kerry put it into play
It would show chimp can't win in his OWN state...well the one he lives in most of the time.

22. You don't put a state into play by making one appearance there
Especially one that has a 20 point spread.

26. Perhaps you would like to show me the polls that suggest against that
http://www.electoral-vote.com/states/texas.html

Does Bush have a shot at Illinois or California? They are 10-15 points in Kerry's favor.
