For Your Dining Pleasure: Repugnican Angst On A Silver Platter
I LOVE this place...

http://www.illinoisleader.com/discussion/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=40&TopicID=3642&PagePosition=1

You thought the last minute undecided were moderates, liberals, independants. WELL guess again... the undecided are WHITE CONSERVATIVES! This comes from today's Financial Times.

In battleground states like Ohio the undecided are WHITE CONSERVATIVES who are very disappointed in George Bush. They don't like Kerry BUT they are repulsed by what George Bush has done in moving away from core beliefs while throwing only crumbs to conservatives.

According to the Financial Times these people are dubious about the Iraq war and believe the Bush was not entirely honest with them.

MOST OF ALL they feel betrayed by his trade policies that have taken away many jobs in their areas...

I for one am in this box... There is a lot about Bush and his advisors that really bothers me. I have the same feeling about voting for him that I had when I voted for GEORGE RYAN! Regardless of what he says I still have the same uncomforable feelings. I almost feel like NOT voting for president.... leaving it blank and just voting for the other candidates... Karl Rove thinks he has me in HIS box.... well don't count on it Karl Rove!

What do you think?

<snip>

Please, DU'ers be kind to this place...it's a great place to lurk to see what's really going on inside the Repugnican pumpkin...and these Illinois boys have had their heads handed to them a bunch of times this year.

Cheers & Work To Get Out The Vote!!!!

1. Hmm..
They say: .."There is a lot about Bush and his advisors that really bothers me"

But will it be enough to make them pull the Kerry lever?

I sure hope so!! ~~~ :toast:

2. Many of these republicans will not for a Dem no matter what
but they'll vote for Libertarians, Constitution Party, or leave the Presidential slot blank. Which is good. :)

3. I've Been Gauging Yard Signs
You can see these people by the display of yard signs in my formerly predominately Repugnican area. I see a lot of houses that have only the B/C sign...not Alan Keyes (that takes a lot of guts, but they're out there) and our alcoholic Congressjerk, Phil Crane...who is spending like the drunken sailor he is to keep his non-performing butt.

The fun ones are the many homes that just have the state and local races...State Rep (also local GOOP boss), Sec. Of State and so on. There are some blocks now where the Kerry/Edwards/Obama/Melissa Bean signs outnumber the Repugnican ones...something I've never seen before and really making me feel good about Tuesday.

My goal is to be "True Blue" on Wednesday...a Democratic President, Two Democratic Senators (and great ones at that), Democratic Governor and FINALLY a Democratic Representative!!!

Cheers!

4. I have a repuke down the block who has never failed to put out
signs for every Repuke candidate he can think of for every office for which they run.

No Bush/Cheney yet and only two days left.

My block is surging with Kerry/Edwards, I've never seen anything like it.
