"Polls Show Bush Moving Ahead Of Kerry" O.K. WTF
As President Bush and John Kerry crisscrossed Midwest battleground states Saturday, a new poll showed the incumbent moving ahead of the Massachusetts senator in the popular vote, and Democrats said their private surveys also hinted at momentum for the president.

A Newsweek poll showed Bush ahead of Kerry 50-44 percent. A week ago, the same survey had the race tied. The president briefly opened a small lead in an ABC poll, but it had vanished by Saturday night.

Throughout the battlegrounds, Kerry's mostly paid army of organizers was pitted against Bush's largely volunteer-driven team to get supporters to the polls Tuesday. It's too late for some: Early voting mushroomed this year and, in Florida alone, nearly 2 million voters have already cast ballots.

6. "Kerry's mostly paid army of organizers"
WTF? Well we know one thing they already got wrong. We're all volunteers here at the Kerry campaign in AZ. * pays people to do phone banking. I even saw Bush/Cheney signs being put up on the highway by what were clearly Mexican immigrants. No way they're * supporters. They even have to outsource putting up signs. Fucking losers.

8. Look at the sampling data and the M of E, its 4 pts.
A 4 pt M of E means that poll as a 50% chance of really being Bush 46 Kerry 48. Zogby has Kerry up by 1.

9. And another thing...
Screw the media for even reporting that bullshit. Hey, how about doing your JOBS and checking out what's really going on instead of repeating RW campaign lies? We've had HUNDREDS of volunteers working around the clock at my local precinct and we can't even get one of the local news stations to get off their lazy asses to cover it. Well they're going to be quite surprised when AZ goes for Kerry and they were sitting there with their thumbs up their asses.

10. It's also an example of the kind of "logic"...
...Joshua Marshall mentioned last week: If Bush has a one-point lead in the polls, it will get reported as "Bush takes lead." If Kerry has a three-point lead, it will be reported as "Election in dead heat."

:eyes:

FWIW, Marshall himself chimed in on this one, in much the same thoughts:

As I wrote early Saturday evening, the third day before the election showed the balance of tracking polls moving for Kerry, with one national poll (Fox) trending to Kerry and another (Newsweek) trending to Bush.

For what it's worth, the last poll, the Newsweek poll leaning to Bush, included the oldest data, though only by a hair.

That spread generated this overnight sum-up headline from Ron Fournier and Nedra Pickler of AP: "Poll Shows Bush Moving Ahead of Kerry".

14. you know bush probably is pulling away with white males. I just
think the election is so close that the difference is going to be turn out. if we get a good turn out, then it will swing our way, if not bush will probably win.

by the info that I've read here and other places I just feel that we will get the turn out that we need. registration is up all over the place, and the repugs are still trying to surpress votes. they know that is we get a good precentage of those registered to vote then it's over.
