I think that we have enough days of polling now to conclude that the Bin Laden tape did in fact hurt Bush now. Many of the polls that now show it tied gave Bush a slight lead before that came out.
I think that enough of the American people decided not to give into fear and determined instead that the very existence of Bin Laden proves that the War on Terror that Bush is waging is not working. In addition, I think many people were turned off by the Republicans gloating about how good it was that Americans would now be scared and would just vote for Bush. A healthy chunk of the population will backlash against anyone telling them how to vote and it may have happened in this case.

My guess is that Kerry has enough momentum that the tape simply isn't doing him as much damage as the Repulican's had hoped.

Not that I believe anything that OBL has to say. His intention was a mind game. I know what he said. But I don't know what he really meant.
