Rudy Giuliani makes me physically ILL
This son of a bitch was about to be run out of NYC on a rail. He owes his career to Osama Bin Laden. And he has cashed in handsomely. I can't stand this bastard. I'm so glad he's on television this morning reminding America what an asshole this guy and the administration he humps for is.

4. He's basically a good guy though
He shares many views with us. Pro-choice for one! I don't think we do ourselves any good by attacking "America's Mayor." He just has picked the wrong horse to back this time.

18. Comixfan - Rudy can be YOUR mayor - he will never be mine
He is a scumbag wanna be that is going to try to ride the 9/11 tragedy for personal gain for as long as possible. He did nothing outstanding on 9/11 - he did what any other leader would have done that day. He is now trying to cash in on the lives of 3,000+ citizens. Just like Bush. That he has been raised to sainthood is a farce. He is a lying, cheating asshole who deserves to fade into the background as soon as this election is over. Can't be soon enough for me.

Oh yeah, and its the "soldiers fault" that Saddam's weapons are now killing our soldiers. He's also a pathetic brain-dead comb over. And that is the best thing that can be said about him.

One of these days I'm going to have to learn how to speak my mind.

10. I agree
After the MTP interview, he has just de-throned Ed Gillispe for the title of "person who can repeat the most right-wing bullshit in the shortest amount of time."

That interview was horrrrrrrrrrrrible. And did you see him laughing when Russert played his "diss the troops" clip? You don't laugh like that, unless you KNOW you're screwed. That was a "doth protest too much" laugh, for sure.

Glad Russert played the clip of Bush saying he didn't care about OBL. Russert shouldn't have let him ramble his bullshit for so long, though.

14. Feel Betrayed
Remember the cover of Newsday after Guiliani spoke at the Republican convention in New York -- huge photo of Guiliani along with a huge quote: "Thank God George W. Bush Is Our President."

If it wasn't known to me before, that's when I realized Guiliani is a sellout of the highest order. Sold to the highest bidder. He betrayed all New Yorkers with that statement. And now, from this man who never served a day in the military himself, to shift the blame for Al Quaquaa to those troops -- I wish I spoke Italian so that I could find one of those appropriately damning curses to condemn him with!

19. Betrayed all New Yorkers, but mostly he betrayed the 3000 dead
That was a SHAMEFUL display at the convention. He had the gall to talk about the people who jumped from the towers rather than burn alive. He then claimed to have turned to Kerik and said "thank god bush is our president." He THEN proceeded to tell flip flop jokes about Kerry. He is a BOOR, he is a MONSTER, and he will get his. And if I ever see him on the streets of New York I will spit in his face.

Welcome to DU, quiet.american. Hope I didn't just scare you off.

It used to like him until he tried to set the blame on our troops for the missing explosives.

9-11 saved his reputation and revived his public ambitions. He may have done a nice job on 9-11 but he had completely sold the American people out.

... what passes for a career performance with politicians.

Guiliani did nothing more than my own father, or I, or damn near any man I know would have done. But the media echo chamber turns it into some kind of breathtaking performance.

What passes for heroism in this country has gotten pretty lame. Any single troop in Iraq or any single fireman, policeman, paramedic at the 911 site is ten times the hero Rudy boy will ever be.

Rudy looked like a hero by comparison. Surely any man would have stood up and done what Rudy did, but there was only a Boy King in the WH.

25. Gollleee, Gomer Pyle Would Have Looked More Presidential
What gets me is that in almost every newspaper endorsement of John Kerry, there's a paragraph about Bush that essentially says, "We admit that President Bush's handling of post-911 was superb (or splendid, or magnificent, or strong, or confident, etc.)" and I'm saying, they must be crazy!

What part of it? The stunned, bewildered seven minutes with My Pet Goat? The meandering around the country "just trying to stay out of harm's way"? The fatuous bullhorn cheer full of sound and fury signifying nothing?

You're right, next to that, Guiliani came off as Winston Churchill.

27. How about how he tried to hang onto his job
even after Bloomberg was elected the new mayor? Rudy tried to get them to let him stay on for another 6 months because he was indispensible. He got shot down. Then he appointed his girlfriend to a cushy job administrating the 9/11 fund.

28. I give Rudy credit for his leadership on 9-11
when AWOL was busy saving his own skin. But he's still a repug
and I don't forget that. They say his comments on blaming the
troops for failing to get the explosives in Iraq will end his
aspirations to further his political career. The film will be
shown over and over if he tries to run.

35. Not running doesn't equal leadership. he posed for cameras and
used ground Zero as his personal power base. Stop buying into the hype. Just being GOP and not running is NOT enough to make one a leader.

38. I stand by what I said...
he stood up in the middle of hell on 9-11 when no one was doing
anything to give the people direction. What a stupid day for
leadership that was....anyone with any power was absent. Other
than that Rudy is still a repug and has repug values that I do
not agree with and I don't want to see him running for dog catcher.
