Nightmare in Clermont County, Ohio - a suburb of Cincinnati
This was sent to me in an email on the outsourcing activists lists.

He requested I post it here to see if anyone can help out.

I am currently working for the DNC in Cincinnati, Ohio, a key
battleground state. I am amazed at the local actions of local
Republicans to stifle and silence public discussion in Ohio...

1.) I have been threatened with a fight by a Marine on leave from
Iraq in front of our local Democrat HQ because I do not agree with
Bush policies he shouted at me.

2.) My car has suffered 3 flat tires on 3 occasions in the past
month when parked close to the county Republican HQ. I strongly
suspect that I was "nailed" because I had a Kerry political sign
visible in my car and a Kerry bumper sticker.

3.) The local Democrats have had literally HUNDREDS of Kerry/Edwards
political signs stolen from residential yards, even after replacing
them several times. The local media has barely covered these
concerns that are regularly reported because this is a highly
partisan election in Ohio.

4.) The local Sheriff's office declined to investigate the hundreds
of sign thefts from home owners, other than "take a report" over the
telephone that goes into an "inactive" file. I reported 6 political
signs stolen with a police officer close by who refused to take a
police report while at the site.

The bottom line is that Republicans in this area seem to think they
can get away with anything without being caught because the local
police do not investigate.

What has our country come to when political discussion and free
speech are trampled? Whatever happened to open and direct public
discussion of ideas without character assassination? Bush seems to
fan the flames of rhetoric through factual distortions,
misrepresentations, and outright lies. Some critics claim that these
dirty tricks are pushed by Karl Rove, the Bush political handler with
a track record for smear campaigns. Does the Bush national message
of recklessness influence local Republicans to be unlawful? I
wonder...

Kerry is a welcome change from the lawlessness supported by Bush and
the Republicans. I may not agree with Kerry on all topics, but God
help us all if Bush is re-elected... a vote for Bush and Republicans
that support him is a vote for 4 more years of embarassment, pain,
and suffering for the American people.

With concern, Steve Neago

2. It's too late now, but
Replacing the stolen signs with a homemade one that reads "you can steal my sign, but not my vote and a Kerry bumper sticker is a nice statement. Also some grease all over the sign so they at least look as dirty as they are when they steal the signs.

3. I feel you're pain.
I live in Clermont County. I thought I was the only democrat. Most republicans I come in contact with are great people, we disagree alot but they are still mostly good (the regular folks). I do believe thought that the * campaign has a scorched earth policy, Their minions will stoop to the lowest levels. Most run of the mill republicans don't see that happening. We've got to win this election and remind people how a good president does his job. When that happens the stark reality between the two will show how truly bad * was.

4. Oh, the major media have noticed the sign theft
One of the whore news networks had a brief story on it, meant to be funny ha ha. They showed oddly high quality video of teenagers stealing BUSH signs! They didn't hint at all that it is Kerry signs being stolen, that the few people who have been caught on camera were older GOP operatives, and that it's been highly organized in many areas.

The whore news should be one of Kerry's first targets, breaking up all those near monopolies and rolling back FCC regulations. He can sell it to the boobs on the right as "increasing competition."

Monopolistic news media serve no one but the corporate masters, and there are only 6 of those in the United states. It's time to break up these massive corporations in all areas, but most especially in media.

5. I understand the rest,
but why the Marine? Hasn't he seen the problems over in Iraq, or is that just reserved for Army soldiers on the ground?

Same thing hit the patriotic button in Vietnam...can't stand to look at the truth.

BTW: I posted this for someone. If anyone can help the DNC in this location, please contact them.

It's clear they are "surrounded".
