Fox Pollster: "tape...has clearly not helped him hold off Sen. Kerry"
“While it has been said too many times to count, this race remains too-close-to-call with the outcome dependent on several key swing states,” comments Opinion Dynamics President John Gorman (search). “With less than two days to go, it is likely that any further last minute events will have little impact. However, it can be said the recent news of a bin Laden tape, while not necessarily hurting the incumbent, has clearly not helped him hold off Sen. Kerry.”

Fewer than one in 10 voters (seven percent) say they may change their mind before Election Day. Fully 91 percent of Bush voters and 93 percent of Kerry voters say they will definitely vote for their man.

1. It's a wash--just as I thought.
Some folks will say it help shrub, because it reminds everyone of terrorism (terra terra terra), the same number of people, if not more, will say it reminds them that OBL is still loose. It's a wash.

2. It's not a wash...
It hurts Bush because it was his job to hunt down the perp of 9/11 and kill him. Not to lose interest in Osama before the job was done and go after Saddam with a bunch of WMD lies designed to stampede the electorate into supporting him.

Killing Osama was Bush's job, not Kerry's.

This hurts Bush's claims to be the 'security president'. And Osama could kill another 3,000 Americans tomorrow. Or 50,000 next week. Bush has told us he's not even that interested in Osama any more.

So just how many thousands of Americans did Saddam kill?

KerryCo needs to hit on this point hard.

3. well, chimp chump, you're arguing logic...
unfortunately, that doesn't always come into play. If somebody is even thinking about voting bush, the rationale, sensible, completely true points you are making may not make sense to them.

I believe we will win, but I also think this tape doesn't do anything to help us. I hope you're right, though, because I'd sure love a landslide!
