The Rudy Guiliani Show... or was that supposed to be Meet the Press?!
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 11:52 AM by feistydem
Tim Russert interrupted Dem proponent, Bob Kerry (who didn't help us much with his lukewarm support), with one tough question after another-- but then when Rudy Guiliani got on Russert let him go on and on and on with his lies and distortions!

It was dispicable. And those tough questions? Anyone else watching get the feeling that Rudy got them in advance and had prepared answers?

When Russert finally asked Guiliani about his statement that the troops were to blame for not searching hard enough for bin Laden in Tora Bora, Guiliani replied that he was only saying what John Kerry was saying! Not that he, Rudy, was saying it but that he was merely repeating KERRY'S CRITICISM OF THE TROOPS!!!

Russert just let that statement slide.

After each question Russert allowed Guiliani talk until he was done--even if it was 5 mins later. He never ONCE interrupted him or called him on his lies.

It was a disgrace to journalistic integrity (an oxymoron these days).

We should hound NBC on this travesty the Sunday before the election.

on edit; I should add that I was sooooo pissed that I walked away and came to DU before the entire editorial, I mean interview concluded.

2. Yeah, I saw that - I thought my head was going to explode
Russert was really showing his true colors today - no doubt he was wearing his Bush lapel pin under his lapel again.
Guiliani got away with lie after lie after lie with no come-back from Pig-Boy.

LIBERAL MEDIA MY ASS

6. It was outrageous............
I could not believe I was seeing and hearing it. Rudy just about came out and said that Kerry and Osama Bin Laden were on the same team. And Bob Kerrey !?.........WHY was he selected to represent us? A last minute appeal to moderates of both parties? Nancy Pelosi did MUCH better. She stayed on message and chewed up Bob Frist point for point on another talk show (ABC?)

7. I saw that one too. Frist must have to wipe that shit off his face daily.
He has his nose buried so far up Bush's ass.

At least Stephanopolis asked some tougher questions this morning. Russert might as well have just given Guiliani the mic and stepped away.
