Just found out my good friend voted for W (absentee ballot)
I am just in shock. I know he despises W, and looks down upon him as an idiot. We talk about it several times a week.

He wouldn't discuss it, but I strongly suspect he swept all his disdain for W and his administration aside and voted for his personal pocketbook. He's an attorney with three school-age children. He likes those child credits and would lose some tax cuts under Kerry.

I'm just sickened. This sort of hold-your-nose-and-vote-for-Bush-cuz-you-want-the-tax-cuts thinking could sink Kerry. And the rest of us, by the way.

What happened to principles?

3. I swear, I don't see how ANYONE with kids would vote for Smirk.
And also, I don't think Bush's tax cuts will help the guy if the rest of the economy collapses around the attorney's ears.

7. All of my family is voting for Mr. Xtian...
...Sad to say they are all brainwashed from the ASSemblies of GAWD, they really believe the raputre shit, Jesus is coming to take them away in a week or 2 and they don't care. My nephew Jon gets killed in Iraq and his mother is overjoyed because he died for Jesus...

Your mother was overjoyed when your nephew was killed in Iraq?

I'm speechless.

10. Except he's not a Republican
I think he votes Democratic unless he sees a monetary benefit to himself by voting Republican.

I don't know what that makes him, but "whore" comes to mind.

5. Mabey his 3 school aged children will be soon drafted to go to fight...
Some neo-con war. But as long as he got his tax cut now. I guese he doesn't really care about their future.

8. I would personally benefit from lower taxes.
I'm in a high bracket, but there are weightier issues here to consider - things that may make low taxes moot.

For example, with 4 more years of the Shrub administration, will it become impossible to go anywhere else in the world without a huge target on your back? It's already risky to go anywhere in the Mideast and Micronesia. I travel for a living. What good are my lower taxes going to be for me, as I'm plummeting from 30,000 ft through a hole in the plane?

Second, the RW factions in the Repug party have shown a strong commitment toward eliminating any rights of gays and lesbians. I'm a gay man. What good are my tax cuts going to do me when I'm shipped off to a concentration camp? You may laugh, but I think we're just a step away from implementing something like this. And who would come to our defense? No offense, but I'm not counting on anyone.

I could go on and on. It's supremely shortsighted to vote with your "pocketbook" when you consider everything else going on.

11. I don't get it. Bush has run up the biggest deficit in history. All
that money has to be paid back, with interest. Bush will just run up even more debt, and your friend will have to pay his share eventually.

Let him know that a vote for Bush is a vote for wildly out-of-control credit card spending.

12. I don't mean to be mean.. but..
Do we HAVE to have all these threads daily about our "friends" who voted for "W"?? Can those things go in the LOUNGE or something? If each of the 50k+ DUers posted every time a "friend" voted for Bush, or talked about voting for Bush, or every time a DUer talked to a Bush supporter, then the entire BOARD will shut down from overload. Can't we move those threads somewhere else?

15. Excuse me, Caliphoto
I would have thought you and I had been here long enough to be able to reach out at times like these.

I'm disappointed in your response to me. Why not just be silent? What about the ability of DUers to reach out to each other here? That's why there are multiple forums. I didn't post my concern in LBN, fergawdsake.

I mean this guy is abetting the destruction of your country. I wouldn't consider this clown a friend.
