1. Not sure
I think he has a really good chance in Ohio, but Florida's electronic voting machines make the state completely unpredictable.

2. I feel good about Ohio, but iffy about Fl.
Maybe it's because I'm a damn Yankee now living in Ga., but they're still haveing such stupid problems in Fl, and I can't get a strong feel for the Cuban, Hispanic, and jewish vote there.

I'm hoping for Kerry to win both, but I won't feel comfortable about Fl until it's all over and all the lawyers have gone home!

3. Kerry SHOULD win both
But the Bush voter suppression effort will be keyed on those two states. If Kerry wins either of them, it looks like he'll win, but if Bush wins both, he will win. People need to be courageous and steadfast in the face of every dirty trick the Pubs can pull. If they do, we'll win.

4. I realize that I am a total cynic, but....
What we learned in 2000 is that the number of votes in FL don't matter; they won't be counted. Jeb has the state under control, and he would be thrown out of the family if he didn't come through. FL is impossible. I know it is cynical, but I don't believe Jeb will allow Kerry to win FL, regardless how the actual votes go. In other words, deja vu all over again.

5. I agree...
Jeb can't afford to let Kerry take Florida. I suspect the "fix is on" in spite of all the media attention. When the chips are down, these people play nasty. Fortunately, it may not matter.

7. I like our chances in Ohio, but Jeb runs Florida.
When the morons re-elected that bastard in 2002, they pretty much gave him the proxy on their electoral votes in this election. I don't think Kerry will get enough of a margin to overcome Jeb's fraud.

8. no way bush wins florida. repubs suppressed so many votes in 2000
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 05:09 PM by faithnotgreed
plus the various voting debacles from 2000... there is no way bush wins florida. because if he "does" somehow, the red flags will be crimson and many.

i bet kerry wins florida. there are now many thousands who will actually be able to vote and will be highly encouraged to do so. we forget that they have been intimidated and suppressed for a long time

well not this time.

michael moore is down there, naacp, aclu, voter protection, poll watchers etc etc/ overseeing the minority polling areas, and they will have the exit polls and cameras as a couple examples of the truth.

kerry definitely wins. it may take a little time for that to be verified but he wins it.

and of course i know about jeb and cronies trying to pull the same old tricks. but there are many different dynamics this time, incl the fact they will be heavily watched and held accountable. because if they do pull the tactics of old, they will be called on it.
now it may be that kerry wont need florida so if that is the case, and florida is eventually called for bush, i do not know if kerry will fight for it or not...

that is another case entirely but in any event, kerry wins florida and wins presidency with no doubt

on edit: not only does kerry gain from all the minority votes that have typically not been counted or cast in florida, but he has just about every category of people on his side: arab-americans, latino, jewish, african americans, and a lot of cubans too...
