I am switching off Cable News. At this point, it can only CLOUD THE MIND. |
|
Seriously, I'm a huge news junkie and watch cable news and/or C-SPAN for hours and hours a day, but I am shutting it off now, and I suggest everyone do the same!
It's nothing but partisan talking heads in full spin mode, there's a lot of talking but nothing is being said. It can only succeed in clouding the mind at this point.
I suggest we all put in our favourite DVD and chill; better to go into November 2. with a clear and happy mind, then all stressed and weary.

forget abut the whore networks on cable. So much better and indeed a little cheaper.

I stopped watching cable "news" last week an have felt much less stressed out about the election. Tonight, I'm going to a Halloween party and tomorrow I'm going to relax by watching the "Return of the King" and drinking a few beers.

For the last 4 years I've gotten all of my news |
|
from bushwatch and buzzflash. They post all the news I need. I don't even watch local news. I live in Wisconsin and on many days the whole state could disappear and I'd be the last to know. Love it that way too.

:hi:
If something really big happens, someone will tell you about it, right? That's how I get my local news, since I refuse to buy the local paper. (i don't have a parakeet. . .)

7. Hiya, Granny, and welcome! |

I did the same as you a while back, and I cannot believe how much better I feel. I mean physically - not just mentally.
Getting rid of that background noise, that static, all that bullshit.
It's a good thing.
Two days to go..............

4. Good movie for today: Woodstock |
|
I was watching Concerts for Change last night on Sundance and it occured to me that would be a great pre election movie.
Tried to watch a little Late Edition this morning....really weak comments from the dem surrogate side by Panetta and Podesta...outrageous claims from the other side. Any resemblence to analysis on any of these shows is an illusion. At best, they are just forums for talking points. Everyone seems tired and weary of making the same points. Someone needs to show a little anger and frustration in the last two days.
