Best TV Election Day Coverage? |
|
Come tuesday, I'm going to be busy being a poll monitor getting out the vote out here on the Left Coast, I aim to still be working till poll closing time 8PM local 11PM EST, then celebrating into wee hours. Being an obsessive-compulsive VCR taper, what is the consensus opinion amongst the DU community of which TV network provides the best Election Night coverage? C-SPAN, PBS,CNN, MSNBC,FAUX,(for laughs, of course)the usual suspects (NBC,CBS,ABC)? Thanks in advance for the Help On The Way

1. I'll stick with the local network affiliates |
|
I'd like to see some of the local races.
Though I will flip around.

5. Duh, I forgot about that |
|
Lots of stuff locally I want to know about. I'll watch local instead of C-SPAN. Like I said below though, if it starts looking like a Kerry landslide, I'll switch to FAUX.

It starts looking like a cakewalk for Kerry at which point we'll switch to FAUX.

4. Honestly, I think the best chance I have is CBS. |
|
FoxNews is a joke, CNN isn't that much better, and MSNBC, well, besides the twin alliance of darkness that is MicroSoft and General Electric, I really don't care for how they cover anything. That pretty much leaves me with the "big networks" in my area, because of my cable package. And of the three, I generally find CBS to be the least offensive.
Though I will certainly be watching The Daily Show's hour when it comes up. :P

I only get 1 and 2 on my package but I like watching 2&3 on the weekends. If you have broadband, it's excellent.

7. If you`d like a break from the usual |
|
try Sundance, Link TV, Free Speech TV, C-Span. These stations are such a breath of fresh air. I never watch the regular cable `news` shows anymore.

I bounce around all over the place, a few minutes for CNN, a few minutes for MSNBC, switch over to C-SPAN, and so on!
