Tucker Carlson "Only Pissed Off People Will Wait In Line 4 Hrs To Vote" |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 01:44 PM by Quixote1818
He went on to say that the Dem base is more motivated and that Kerry would win by around 2 points. Yes, we will win no matter what the weather is like! Bring on the Rain and Snow as our people are determined to vote even in ten feet of snow.

39. Pissed Off People = Kerry Supporters, especially Democrats |
|
Republicans who are tepid on Bush will not wait or inconvenience themselves significantly.
Remember Florida 2000 !

4. He said 2 Hours, but still |
|
You are right, i think he is one of three Pundits that has the right idea, Charlie Cook and John ZOgby also say Turnout will be phenomonal. The Media is behind as usual, they are still chasing thier tails about how the undecideds break. What will be amazing is if 115 or More show up to vote. Peter Hart and Charlie Cook agreed that it maybe 130 million. Carlson is a wanker, but i think he is young enough not to be in the old style Repuke crowd, i think what he said is an admission of the truth, that a lot of people are pissed. When cHarlie cook said on MTP, that he thought Bush would win 271 to 267 he looked sad, in the sense that He knows we cant have another close one like that.

7. Elizabeth Edwards said people in NC stood in line 4 hours |

yesterday to vote. Whoo-hoo! That is motivation to get out there and vote early.

25. Susan Estrich on FAUX last night also mentioned to watch turnout... |
|
She said if got to 115-118 million and upwards of 120 million, then it was a Kerry win. She expected a 58% turnout, compared to a below 50% turnout in 2000.

the town that I'm going to college in is a traditionally Democratic southern town that elected a Republican Sheriff in 2000. He didn't even make it through the primaries this year, to my surprise- it rained a LOT, Democrats still went to vote (open primaries) and he's out this year no matter what happens.

|
he's a die-hard shrub lover (rich kid). i said, "yep, first day the polls opened". he said he went to vote the other day, but after waiting in line for 20 minutes, he gave up and left.
i just smiled and said "yeah, voting's overrated anyway." i'm hoping all bush lovers are as motivated as this kid.

24. I'm thinking my mother and grandmother may not vote |
|
Their polling place is two blocks away on the other side of the street. Now this street is the busiest one in town and traffic can get hectic.
They've complained about it often enough and just yesterday she was complaining about how they're going to get over. This was after I suggested they go vote early but didn't.
My polling place is five miles away and the road turns and winds all over the place. Accidents are common. Come hell or highwater, I'm voting. Nothing short of the apocalypse will keep me from going.
Dems are determined and resolute. I love it!

There are people volunteering to drive elderly people, stand in place in line for them, just so they get the opportunity to vote.

22. Doris Kearns whats her name was on MSNBC last night and she |
|
pulled out of the air a poll that said that 77% of Dems felt this was the most important election of their lifetimes, as compared to about 20something % of Republicans.
That was the gist of it....the importance of the election...if not the exact words she said.
If that poll is true, whatever it's from, then than would support Carlson's comments.

the first poll I'd seen that seemed to capture what I see on the ground.
Part of the Repub base is permanenently pissed, of course. Listen to Limbaugh and hate-radio. The -change- is that now so many Dems are also pissed.

and we got a lot of anger and hate to keep us going, Tucker.
I've already voted, but I swear to all that is good and holy, I would stand in a line miles long to vote for Kerry and against bush. I'd fight off puking monkeys and rabid dogs. I'd go hungry for hours on end. I'd go without sleep to do it. I'd stand in snow barefoot until I had frostbite. I'd stand between two people who were randomly pinching me throughout the wait (though I'd smack them for doing it). I'd endure hard winds, driving sleet or a huge dust storm.
Seriously. I am not kidding.

|
I think it was part of his plan all along to only have a few metal detectors at his rallies, so we'd get used to standing in incredibly long lines for him. A few hours is nothing to us now, it's like we've been training for the marathon. :)

The weather is supposed to be pretty nasty here Tuesday. I hope that translates to less repugs voting because they are convinced there are only about 10 dems here in town lol. We'll be out in force, because we are definitely PISSED!! What's a little lightening and rain when you deal with tornados and hurricanes half the damned year anyway lol?

I'd wait in line 4 hours to vote for Kerry!!! Even in MT where my vote won't make a dent :( I already voted by fax - it's just not the same. No little sticker, no cute little old lady searching for my name, no patriotic woman playing the Star Spangled Banner on the piano (this happened!). sigh. I eat this shit up!!
