If early voting is any indication, Tuesday will be a disaster..
As far as people standing in lines and getting to vote on time. Since a reported 20% have voted early and many of us experienced long lines of two hours or more, what will it be like on Tuesday when the other 80% show up to vote? Granted, the votes will be scattered by precincts, but how many people will not be able to vote that really want to vote? The intentional "bureaucracy" does not make it easy to vote. It should not be so difficult and it should not take so much time. Just my opinion.

12. Good for you, can't hurt to be prepared
I was warned that the Republicans will be out in force issuing challenges mainly to people who speak with an accent, minorities, and students.

Keep in mind that at least in my state, no challenger can ask you questions directly. An election judge must be present and must be the one to ask the questions.

This pisses me off to no end, and it's one of the many reasons I signed up to be an election judge.

No funny business will happen in MY precinct, dammit.

2. I don't think all the polling places are open for early voting...
So, Tuesday will have a lot more places to vote. I think you're right though. I think there will be TONS of people at all the polls.

6. There are only a few early voting locations
in those areas. There will 10 and 20 times the number of voting places open on election day.

7. Remember that
in early voting there are usually only a few places to vote in the entire county (I think all of Dallas County, TX, which is huge, only had about 6 or 7 early voting places). Whereas during the regular election day, every single precinct has a polling place. That helps a lot.

Dems will vote come hell or high water. I am driving a big ol van all day taking people to their polling places. I'm taking the 866 number to call for not being allowed to vote.

15. You are right
here in AR, you can only vote early if you go to your county courthouse. On Tuesday, they'll be polling places in every township.

9. Americans Voting in Large Numbers is not a Disaster
I'll camp out if I have to. Waiting in line to vote fascism away is not a burden. FOUR MORE YEARS OF BUSH AND WHAT KIND OF LINES WILL WE BE WAITING IN THEN?

13. But how many people will be discouraged ?
Or cannot vote because they have to be at work at a certain time? Granted, voting in large number is not a disaster if they get to vote.

14. Lets be optimistic Kentuck
How many people will be discouraged if bush wins?

IF YOU ANTICIPATE A DELAY AT THE POLLS, NOTIFY YOUR EMPLOYER.

ADAPT, IMPROVISE, OVERCOME. BE A RESOURCEFUL AMERICAN.

MAKE A NIKE COMMERCIAL - JUST DO IT!

AMERICAN ENDS WITH I CAN!

A VOTE FOR KERRY IS TOO DAMNED IMPORTANT TO BE OVERCOME BY EXTERNAL FORCES WHICH CAN EASILY BE DEFEATED.

Kentuck, I love you man, but stop exercising your erroneous zones. You are worrying about something you have no control over.

16. I am optimistic, BOSSHOG .....
I just want our Democrats to be prepared and not give up on Tuesday. If it rains or if there are long lines, let us be prepared. If anyone chooses to not vote and go home, let it be the Republicans! :)

25. My friend
As much as I try to make sure that I get the work on time, I would think that bosses "might" be a little more sympathetic since they know there will be long lines.

Of course, if they aren't, at least a vote for Kerry gives you a chance to find a new job. Four more years of * and we will all be out of work.

10. I don't think so. There were limited places to vote in early voting.
In my county we only had 4 places to vote early, but on Election Day we'll have almost 60 polling places open.

then it is going to be one helluva lot easier to handle the election day turnout.

21. In this case, a "disaster" is good
If you expect longer-than-average lines due to high turnout, that is NOT a bad thing. High turnout always favors Democrats. Let's pray for a "disaster."

22. It will be good for the Dems, they are so mad they will be glad to
wait.

REpubs will never sit that long for anything and will be depressed by the early voting totals that will be announced on Election Day morning and the huge turnout reports.

THe Rs will go home while the Ds party in line!

Bring cookies, snacks, coffee, tea and milk for all who are in line to pass out!

23. In general I agree.
Many people can only go early in the morning or in the evening. And long lines discourage voting. It shouldn't be difficult for woring people to vote.

26. I think what this means is . . .
. . . that turnout will be very heavy.

And we know what THAT means: the Chimp gets to sit on his banana (unripe, of course).
