I am nervous about the next 48 hours.
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 04:29 PM by Cascadian
I have to admit that I am a little stressed out about Tuesday. My big fear is the Karl Rove/Bushite spin machine is going to be kicked in overtime and something could happen. I honestly think that with as close as the race is right now, they are going to pull tons of dirty underhanded tactics. And they already are by some accounts. Also, do not be misled, people. I do not think that Kerry is going to win by a blowout. It is truly going to be close. The other thing that concerns me is no matter who wins, there are going to be a lot of anger and rage. I would not rule out some violence. I hope I am wrong in all concerns.

Please tell me if I am not the only one who is feeling edgy.

:scared:

1. You're not.
Don't know if that helps, but you're not alone.

Today while listening to AAR, a commentator was looking at polling reports from swing states and said something like, "If this holds true, Kerry will be our next president."

I felt a little gaspy sob jump into my throat and only hope that I will hear those words conclusively on Tuesday night (or maybe Wednesday a.m. if I can actually go to bed before the results are in on Tuesday night.)

2. It's too late
Rove already fired all of his blanks.

Praise be to Gore and the Internet, Rove just can't compete anymore.

3. you are not the only one!
I am really suffering from "P.E.A.D" (pre-election anxiety disorder- which I think they talked about on Countdown last week). I can't concentrate on anything that is really important (like the masters thesis, reading etc...) and my motivation to do anything is zlitch. I had terrible stress dreams last night about being at a Kerry rally and wanting one of the "1 more day" signs and then ending up in a car where the breaks didn't work. Ugh.

DU (and Air America as well) has become my sanity- that and good beer and knitting like crazy will hopefully see me through...

But instead of beer and knitting, I have anti-depressants and The Sims 2.

4. It's perfectly natural.
I'm stressed out too, and will be very glad when it's all over, but I genuinely, truly believe that Kerry is going to win this. So please don't stress too much. Just take some deep breaths and tell yourself that it will be over soon. And keep yourself busy by volunteering for the campaign.

5. I'm feeling edgy, too.
How can we not? Even if Kerry wins, we KNOW they're going to pull something. They're not going to be gracious losers, they're going to tie it up in the courts for a while ... which is ironic because they "hate" trial lawyers! :scared:

And I smile and feel better.

10. I'm edgy, and also suspect the rovian machine will try
something. However, I DON'T believe the race is as close as the talking heads are saying. Kerry wins, bushco will have to get real creative to steal this one. I think Kerry is prepared.

11. You are not alone.
But take a deep breath and realize we're going to have a HUGE victory and this nightmare will all be over soon. Just stay calm and no matter what happens, we'll all get through it together.
