What If The Polls Are Wrong?
Oct. 31, 2004

After six months of bruising political hand-to-hand combat, President George Bush and Sen. John Kerry have somehow managed to battle to a draw.

The presidential election, we've been told ad nauseam, is a dead-heat, neck and neck, too close to call.

We've heard it so much, it must be true - right?

Well here's a thought - what if the polls are wrong? What if, come Tuesday night, we're in for a surprise?

1. All polls are wrong, they are merely a tool used by dems or repub. -
to get voters to go one way or another.

2. There are no guarantees. BUT.
It is hard to see that Bush has gained much ground, except perhaps in the deep red states, which doesn't change much for him.

More people at the polls = advantage Kerry.

Bush's lead in red states he's probably going to take but that aren't deep red is lower. That means a lower popular vote count, probably.

Bush is having to stump hard to defend states he won last time; again, advantage Kerry.

Even with vote suppression/funny machines, it will be hard for the Bush camp to change enough votes in their favor. Too many precincts, too many different voting methods, and still a few honest Republicans among the pollworkers out there.

We have to be ready for huge obfuscation if it's REALLY close. If it's somewhat close, we're going to win.

3. It's pretty obvious that the polls are
disingenuous and are being manipulated to put Bushco in a position to steal yet another election. The media is complicit in this and must ultimately be put on the carpet for these actions.

If it's so damn close why have millions of people voted already? That's certainly not an approval rating vote, plus NONE of the newly registered voters have been taken into account regarding these polls.

4. We are beyond the time for polls
About 10% of all voters have already cast their ballots in those states that allow early voting, and turnout on Election Day (that means you and me!) will determine the winner of the election.

All the signs point to a Bush defeat, and that includes the Redskins's defeat today, as Keith Olbermann told us during the week.
