A Kerry win in IA changes everything |
|
It woudl be such an upset that he just might take the whole darn thing after all.

He'll sputter when he runs out of money to compete in the other states.

Kerry can riase money. The only reason he hasn't raised much recently is his poll numbers are bad, But not anymore. I think a win there reinvigorates his huge donor base.

7. Time's not on his side |
|
He'll only have five weeks to raise enough money.
And he won't be able to campaign AND raise.

3. The Democratic Party -- |
|
-- will have enough money to compete with George Bush in 2004, according to Terry McAuliffe. Not the same high dollar total, but enough to best what Gore raised in 2000.

5. The money will come pouring in |
|
It probably is already from the surprise in the polls. It truly would be a great inspiring story.

4. It increases his viability and possible fundraising |
|
But if the fundraising doesn't come through, I think little will change in the long-game. Only the short-game is changed, which increases the chance that he can pull something out in the end. For Kerry, it is all about New Hampshire. He can safely lose Iowa and hit NH hard and have the same affect as winning Iowa. He only gains newspaper headlines. But something we have to keep in mind, State of the Union is the day after Iowa. Those headlines are only there for a day. The following Sunday is going to be a mish-mash of Iowa and SOTU.

6. It would make things interesting, that's for sure |
|
But we won't have to worry about that.
Quite honestly, though, I'm pulling for Kerry to do well in Iowa, so he pulls some of the momentum from clARk

8. I tried to contact the local Kerry for President HQ... |
|
...and it was insanely busy there today. Mind you, this office is almost exclusively a fundraising office, not a field operations office yet.
Kerry's troubles raising money are over.
