CBS 60 Minutes canceled? Ca Ca-gate? Anyone have the story?

I thought 60 minutes was to air a scathing sory on the missing explosives, but heard they changed plans due to pre-election pressure?!? Would appreciate the skinny if anyone knows.

2. My dad was telling me this, too.

Some Col. was interviewed by local radio (might have been Col. Ryan - the guy who found a way to work with Iraqis and clerics to avoid fighting and bloodshed) and this guy was supposedly at Al Qaqaa on April 10 and saw a completely empty bunker. Supposedly, CBS and NY Times have egg on their face and CBS isn't airing the story. But, dad heard this on Tuesday, before the Pentagon dog-and-pony show and the Minneapolis news video came out.

7. 60 Minutes is doing lots of weird things

Cacagate evidently was supposed to break on "60 Minutes" tonight, but instead the New York Times broke the story last week with help from CBS News. Then yesterday I read an article on Salon that said the story would be aired on "60 Minutes" anyway, but I can't find any schedule that confirms that.

Of course they also shit-canned an earlier story on the forged yellowcake documents after Dan Rather aired those Killian memos.

One of the first things Bush did while in office was to sign an executive order that will protect the privacy of President for 8?10? years after leaving office, and it affects even his dear old Dad also.

I hope Kerrry revokes this soon after election.

Under the guidelines Clinton and previous presidents worked under, all records of their presidencies were sealed for twelve years. The intent here was to give the country a cooling-off period, especially in the case of a bad president. After that, the records became public.

Bushler knew that the cooling-off period was about to hit the Reagan administration, and we'd get total access to some pretty damning stuff about some members of his own administration, his dad, Saint Ronnie and everyone else responsible for turning the White House into the Big House.

Therefore, Shrub signed an executive order giving the president the ability to permanently seal all records of any presidency after the 12 years had ended. Which he did with the Reagan and Bush administrations.
