What we must do next.

Those of us in red states can't do much but worry at this point but we must NEVER forget what a battle this was.

How can it be that a president with Bush's record come close to reelection? Misinformation.

I spent the morning with my mom's cousin visiting from Arizona. She's a freeper. Listens to Fox and Rush. A few interesting observations about our discussion:

When the lawyer (me) and her college student son came over, the cousin would not admit to listening to Rush or watching Fox. I didn't push her. I think she knows it is one sided and was ashamed.

She doesn't agree with Bush on hardly anything. She's an atheist and is disgusted by the faith based stuff. She hates all his idiotic spending stuff (excpet the drugs bill for seniors as she is 80 but at least she admits that she supports it because of her needs). She is pro choice but had NO idea what Bush has done to increase abortions world wide with his draconian policies.

She wouldn't talk about the war. When the subject came up she kept talking about the UN and France and to say Kofi Annan stole money in the food for oil deal and France should not be on the security council. I was well prepared with the facts and she said "gee, you are so well informed, how do you do it?" (I was under orders to be nice so I didn't scream "because I have not let Rush and Fox brainwash me!")

Point is, she is NOT an enthusiastic Bush supporter but has been brainwashed by the "most liberal senator" and "flip flop" nonsense.

She is beyond hope. But, what do we do? 30% of Americans are incapable of critical thought. They are brainwashed zombies. What will it take? What can we do?

We need a Heritage foundation and a federalist society and a permanent campaign but we also have to fix the media. Any ideas out there on how to do that? A BBC or the fairness doctrine? Kerry should address this first.
