Email from Repuke Sen. Comm. with Bush's 4 reasons to elect more fascists |
|
(from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, "signed" by Shrub:
"Since my first days in office, my administration has been confronted with the partisan obstruction of my agenda in the Senate by a handful of liberal Democrats. It is clear to me that these Senate Democrats have placed partisanship ahead of progress and in doing so they have managed to stall key parts of my agenda and deny a full-floor vote for a number of my judicial nominees. It is critical that we expand the Republican Majority in the Senate in order to overcome these obstructionist tactics.
For this reason, I have transferred $1 million from my campaign account to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and a separate fundraising committee I established has provided an extra $4 million for Senate candidates. Vice President Cheney and I have personally helped raise an additional $32.8 million for the NRSC and more than $6 million for individual Senate candidates. These resources support the Committee's important efforts to turn out the vote for our Republican Senate candidates and its vigorous defense of our candidates against the negative and misleading attacks leveled at them by their opponents and third-party groups seeking to influence the outcome.

Here are my 4 reasons why we need to strengthen our Republican Senate Majority:
Judicial Confirmations: Miguel Estrada, Priscilla Owens and Charles Pickering — judges who would interpret the law according to the Constitution, not legislate from the bench — are just some of my judicial nominees that were denied the courtesy of a full-floor vote by the Democrat Senate. We need to make sure we have a Republican Senate Majority strong enough to overcome the threat of filibuster by a handful of liberal Senators.

A Comprehensive Energy Plan: Since I first ran for the Presidency in 2000, I have pushed for a comprehensive energy plan that leaves America less dependent on foreign sources of oil. A good first start towards this goal remains stalled in the Senate where some Democrats are putting politics ahead of progress. '
<snip>
Make the Tax Cuts Permanent: To pay for their campaign promises, the Democrats in Congress have threatened to repeal the historic tax cuts I implemented. We need to make those tax cuts permanent. Individuals should have the power to make decisions about their money, not the government.
<snip>
Winning the War on Terrorism: To win this war, the support of Congress is critical. We must renew the Patriot Act and make sure our troops have the support and equipment they need."

Mods: Hope this is not too long and is not a dupe.
