FEMA checks reach Florida residents this past week
I just heard from my step-father, who owns a small business very lightly damaged in the Florday hurricanes, that he received a check from FEMA this week.

My first thought was that it was a timely reminder, and gift, from the administration. He didn't see it that way.

Anyone with any information on whether this was an expedited process, or confirm other check recpients? Seems soon to be turning around claims and checks given the government's alleged interminable beauracracy.

Thanks for coming through that natural disaster with us, and don't forget to vote Bush.

sigh.

1. I has been long enough that some were wondering where it was so I'd say
yes. I put nothing past this administration.

2. My thought when the hurricanes hit was that here is W's chance
to buy some votes. The timing is not a coincidence. Nothing in this campaign is a coincidence.

3. Yes, from a different poster
He said it was incredibly easy to get hurricane relief this time, just sign up and say you had home damage. He got some sort of debit card a couple of weeks ago.

4. Just got off the phone with my motherinlaw...
she is a true swing voter and lives in Pensacola Beach FL...her home was destroyed in Ivan, and she is pissed as anything at FEMA because they cant get her address straight (she has moved around a lot) and keep dropping her since they haven't heard back from her...she has to register for the 5th time for FEMA tomorrow...

Also, she voted absentee for KERRY ALL THE WAY:)

And, for months, she had been saying that she would go for Bush (she is a huge OReilly fan!!)
