Election Positive Vibes Thread |
|
You don't have to call this prayer if you don't want. You can also take whatever side of the Pascal wager that you want. All you have to do is wish Kerry and wish all us volunteers and voters and citizens good vibes for the coming few days. Think positive thoughts and they might travel to those voting machines and voting tabulators, wherever they are.
Just say what you want to have happen and hope it happens, think of nothing but what it will look and feel like when it happens. Do it like this:
When they call Iowa for Kerry around 11:20 Tuesday night, and I've got the good Irish whisky ready to pour, I'm going to hoist one on the rocks and I'm going to be thinking about the lives that were saved and the people who'll get health care and the kids who'll get good teaching because of what we're going to do.
Aaaaah.

4. I was just at Daily Kos... |

and read the letter about the 79 year old woman who's last act was to vote for Kerry amidst bumperstickers and buttons. It choked me up. I am mostly atheist with a small bit of agnostic thrown in, and god knows what else, but have to believe people like Joan Friedman, Sally Baron and many of the wisened ones who've left us are somewhere in the ether rooting for America--for us. We are not alone. America herself was built on too many hopes and dreams, and she's not ready to die.

...from the other thread...lol...
anyways, yes, I see the east coast polls closing and people being shocked by a kerry victory in VA in addition to PA, and NH and all expected states. Then as the Central time zone closes, FL, IA, MN, MO all go for Kerry and AR is too close to call until later (and later goes for Kerry) By this time the freepers are freaking out and the media is saying "Barring a miracle, John F Kerry will be our next president". The miracle never happens. NM - Kerry, CO - Kerry (and the EV split amendment fails), and of course HI - Kerry. Pundits and cons alike are shocked with a Landslide Kerry voctory. And the good people of the nation hold a huge party into the wee hours of the morning in celebration of the defeat of the boy king!
