Excitement! Our local plan for GOTV
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 10:34 PM by Jersey Devil
Tomorrow we will have canvassers doing a lit drop througout our town of 18,000 in NE Bergen County, NJ, all college age kids with Kerry/local Dem literature done back to back on one campaign piece.

Tuesday: 6:15 am - our people to check if all polls are open and operating.

6:30 am - Checkers arrive at polls to mark off the Dems as they vote until 2 pm. All checkers have hotline cell number in the event of any voter challenges. County has dozens of lawyers on call and can be in court in 15 minutes.

6:30 am - Drivers on standby to bring voters to the polls, van parked out front of our senior citizen complexes (2).

2:00 pm - Runners pick up the lists from poll checkers and begin calling Dem voters with the "We noticed you haven't voted yet and we need your support" script, continuing until 7:30 pm - polls close at 8

All day - townwide literature drop - door hangers

Approx 8:30 pm runners begin arriving at headquarters with results from local districts. I man the tote board and post the raw vote as they come in from each district.

I won't be able to join you until late on election night but I will know who won our town and NJ just by looking at our local results because I have been doing this a long time. Sometimes I know just by seeing the results from one district.

Get out to your local Dem headquarters early Tues if you haven't signed up yet to help out. There is always something to be done. Make phone calls, drive to the polls, bring coffee and donuts to checkers, etc. Every little bit helps build a higher and higher wave until it becomes a tsunami.

2. We are doing so much better at volunteers than
those others. Jumped to the bad place out of curiosity after reading some post about them exploding only to see this

Snip

Sunday afternoon - 6:00: Radner PA: Once again, a gazillion phone calls. People are starting to threaten to vote for Kerry if they recieve one more call. I'm starting to threaten to vote for Kerry if I have to call another person! LOL

Snip

First of all, NOBODY from the NY area came as a result of the gazallion posts I placed here concerning this effort. I guess you guys out in NY or NJ really don't mind saying "President Kerry."

Snip

You should have seen all the MoveOn.commies there -- folks this was about turnout, and while we kicked some tail, I'm afraid we were outgunned in terms of volunteers.

Since I head to PA tomorrow & Tues. it is great to know there are more Kerry volunteers out there.
