I think its going to be Clark or Kerry, folks.
So then what? If I'm right, will the supporters of Dr. Dean, who have brought such incredible energy and passion to this campaign, then take a pass? Or will they channel that energy and orginizational genius into putting a Democrat, ANY DEMOCRAT, into the White House? I think the fact that I have to ask the question scares me as much as anything else. (And before the flaming starts, please know that I have donated to the Dean, Kerry, Clark, and Kucinich campaigns. My mantra remains, ABB.)

I kind of hate the idea of a Clark-Kerry fight, though. (I would steel myself, of course.) I'm hoping Dean wins Iowa slight.

13. Not according to some people here
The whole knock against Dean is his alleged problems with electability. If these other candidates are so superior, then our support, beyond our vote, is not needed. If these other candidates really do need our help, then apparently they aren't quite as electable as people say.

Give me one good reason why I should go out and bust my ass for John Kerry if he becomes the nominee? I've seen him speak a couple of times and he's done nothing for me whatsoever. He's actually turned me against him to a certain extent.

Dean offers hope that we can beat Bush, Kerry tries to get me scared of Bush.

I'm not scared of Bush, I'm pissed at him.

31. No
No, you get the government you create.

All the major campaigns obviously will inspire some, but not all, of the electorate. But this election is more than just some candidate beauty pageant. If you sit out, for any reason, it is absolutely your fault. You may not love the guy, you may not even like the guy, but whoever it ends up being I don't think it is hyperbolic to say that they would be an order of magnitude better than Bush (hell, judicial appointments alone...); so come convention time, I hope to God that every conscientious person on this board and in this nation will put their respective shoulder to the wheel and get OUR guy elected. Because he will be our guy, all of ours.

I would be proud to call either of them my President and whichever one should win the primary will have my efforts. They are the only two who can win my state. I like Kerry very much but I prefer Clark's vision and the fact that he has less baggage. I believe Clark has the ability to pull in more voters. I want as many as possible and then some.

We're going to throw up a bull work in Florida down here against anyone but Clark.

Hopefully Bob Graham, will help us deliver again.

If it runs longer than Super Tuesday, then our delegates in Florida are going to carry the day for Clark. We have organization and we're starting to see results.

Give us until March 8th, and we will deliver the battle-ground state.

60. all the things you said about Dean
What have I said except that he is a misleader? Its accurate. He misleads every time he says "voted for war". Dean's wrong and I'm not. Read the resolution:

http://usinfo.state.gov/regional/nea/iraq/text/1010res.htm

There was no "vote for war" and it is wrong for Dean, or anyone else, to say such a thing against fellow Democrats. This is George W. Bush's war and Dean's divisive words have caused some in this party to forget it.

You have every right to vote for the candidate that you want. If you do as you say and choose bush over any of the candidates other than Dean or Clark or Edwards then you haven't been paying attention to what bush and the gang have been doing. Lint would do a better job!

Kerry has too much baggage. Too many Dean supporters would not vote for Kerry.

The war resolution vote will suppress Democratic turnout.

Kerry would lose to Bush worse than Dean.

I've always said that because of the Democratic bloodletting, the only candidate that can unite the party is Clark.

He should be, and probably will be the nominee.

35. So just ignore them!
If you're so offended by these types of posts, let met suggest that you just ignore them. Simple and effective.

To people who believe that the bottom line in this election is that Bush must go, the possibility that many Dean supporters are NBD is important to them. If the common goal is beating Bush, then the question has merit.

Regarding Dean supporters as the only target of this type of posting, I disagree. There have been plenty of postings asking Clark supporters (and others) if they would vote for Dean. Dean supporters are asked this more often, however, because a) he's the front-runner, and b) because many Dean supporters on DU have openly acknowledged that they will not vote for anyone but Dean, especially when asked if they will vote for Clark.

JMHO

Clark is best at the top of ticket cause frankly he's better looking and will pull enough in the South to make Junior sweat money there. Also, Clark avoids the NorthEastern Liberal crap label the GOP loves. And his Non-Partisan past is a big draw for moderates and independents.

Kerry is best as VP cause he can work behind the scenes with the Intelligence people lined up behind him.

62. Clark will lurch in any direction which will benefit Clark
He is overly ambitious, possesses a towering ego, and will do anything which will benefit his ambitions. Nothing wrong with
that trait except, I simply won't trust a guy to lead my party
when he has proved to have switched sides, positions and PARTIES.

We have too many fine candidates, Dean, Edwards, Kerry and Gep,
to name a few, in whom I can trust to carry the torch of
democratic principles.

65. I'll probably sit this one out if Clark gets the nomination...maybe go
green or leave the top blank.

4 stars & vietnam vet against AWOL Bush and draft dodger Cheney.
It's a win-win.
