That was purposeful, I think. GWB was selected by the neo-cons because of the family name recognition but not many people really knowing much about him. They could mold him into whatever they desired. I don't think they figured on him being dumber than a box of hammers at the most important moments in his presidency.

I hope he vanishes into obscurity. Years from now maybe somebody will do one of those magazine articles they do about faded celebrities -- whatever happened to so-and-so -- and we'll all go, Oh, yeah, George Bush, wasn't he that really shitty president who got his ass handed to him after one term? He'll have spent most of his time shuttling in and out of detox and rehab facilities; he'll have cirrhosis of the liver and look like he's 100 years old, and maybe by then we'll feel sorry for him. Or not.
