Props to the Democrats of IOWA.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but before the Iowa caucus, John Kerry was really not on anybody's radar screen. But, the folks there took a good look at all the candidates, and picked Senator Kerry. The conventional wisdom at the time was that he won because people thought he had the best chance of beating Bush.

I, like a lot of people, was dumbfounded. Kerry was never my first, second, or even third choice! He seemed dull and uninspiring. I was unimpressed and unenthusiastic (although of course I would have voted for a ham sandwich if that's what was running against Bush)...

But damned if those Iowa caucusgoers didn't get it absolutely right! The campaign Kerry has run has been truly great, and he's made a fan out of me. So much so, that I think that we wouldn't be in such a strong position had anyone else been the nominee - not even Clark, or Edwards, or Dean, all of whom I adore and respect.

So, props to IOWA DEMS! Ya done good!

4. Cheers From Across The Other River!!!
I lived in Urbandale for a year and voted for Dukakis there in '88 and became a strong follower of Tom Harkin in those days (I supported him in the '92 primaries). I also really like Tom Vilsack and Chrissie...they have built a solid operation that we're seeing do it's thing.

A special thanks to the Iowa DUers who must be electioned out to the gills. You folks have lived with this stuff non-stop for two years now and haven't really had a minute to catch your breath. Hopefully you and the rest of us will rest very easy starting on Wednesday.

Cheers from Chicago & very Kerry Illinois!

6. I was there on Jan. 18, Sudlow Jr. High School Davenport, Iowa,
35 people tops were expected at my caucus place. 160 showed up, 90 went Kerry. Hope was born in me then. Come what may, I'll never forget standing up for Kerry, Freedom, and America on that night.
KERRY/EDWARDS 2004!

8. Thanks from Iowa
Went to my first caucus. I didn't know who I was voting for until the last second. It was a tossup between Kerry and Edwards. I loved both of them. I just thought Edwards was "too nice" I thought Bush would eat him up and spit him out. Thrilled with our lineup!

I live in a tiny town. 250 people. I'm not sure how many usually show up, but we had 60 people there.
