Dems gaining ground on Republicans in Atlantic County

Think of Atlantic County politics and you think Republican and GOP control.

But a look at 2004 voter-registration statistics shows something that doesn't make county Republicans too happy - a drop of more than 800 registered Republicans since 2000, the last presidential election year.

During that same period, Atlantic County election statistics show the number of registered Democrats increased by more than 5,800 people.
