Pollster Anna Greenberg: "Tied is not losing"
She just said on Morning Sedition that she doesn't understand why Democrats aren't happier. "Tied is not losing, it's tied." Why are we so pessimistic?

Well, because the other side CHEATS! We were virtually tied in 2000, and spent four years in HELL with Bushco in the White House!

I went to bed in 2002 thinking Alabama would have a Democratic governor, only to wake up and learn that 7000 votes had been taken from the Democrat and the Republican was claiming victory!

When you're dealing with people who cheat, tied is dangerous!

5. Actually, I agree
I woke up pumped this morning, and wishing it was Tuesday!

I KNOW we're going to win. I feel it, I know it.

But I don't trust these jackals, so I'm not letting my guard down.

3. No comfort zone here.
I have no doubt that repugs ARE cheating. But this time we are more vigillant.
Yes tied is dangerous when one side believes the ends justify the means.
All the same I think the Chimp is toast.

4. People just don't want to claim victory
that's it. I don't see it as pessimism. I know deep down most people here feel that Kerry is going to win tomorrow!

Nobody wants to jinx it though. :-)

6. This is no longer 2000.
We now know what they are capable of, and we are prepared. My friend the lawyer, pretty much the smartest man I know and a former Deputy Attorney General, is locked and loaded for voting legal work in NJ. There are hordes of good Democratic lawyers just like him.

This is not 2000. This is NOW. WAR=We Are Ready, as Commander Richard(NMN) Marcinko would tell you. If they want it, they got it, and they will get it.

9. Realism Not Pessimism
So many of us have worked for so long and so hard, it's not only hard to believe the day is almost at hand, but how much work has really been done.

I speak to lots of Democrats and there's a quiet confidence, but underneath there's a steely resolve that what happened in 2000 won't happen again. This has led to the most focused, energized Democratic party than I've ever experienced and bodes extremely well.

Anna is right! Remember, we HAD the majority in 2000...we didn't lose, we got jobbed. This time we won't. And the numbers look better this year than they did 4 years ago...a lot better.

Just keep in mind Rove's 4% rule...unless Bunnypants clearly leads polls by 4%, he's actually tied or behind...which could spell GOOP disaster in a lot of states. It's been obvious to some in recent weeks that's what's happening...the GOOP stalled in their GOTV and recruiting efforts...they "maxed" out, while the Democrats kept registering and getting stronger. No wonder they worked so hard to supress our vote.

We knew this election wouldn't be fair, that we'd have to work double hard just to overcome all the handicaps the GOOPs would throw at us. None of us have been disappointed in that fact and that it's important that Kerry gets a clear victory and to do whatever is needed to make sure that happens.

To all DU'ers...I don't have to say what's at stake here...just to encourage all those who are working like we are for 2 more days of strength and faith.

10. I agree with Skinner..
Although a few people are a little nervous, I think by and large, most people are hopefully optimistic. :)
