Kerry supporters sense momentum

US Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is heading into his final day on the campaign trail with a sense of gathering momentum - and excitement amongst his supporters.

On Sunday, he started the day rallying the black vote at church services in Dayton, Ohio.

But the big rally of the day was in Manchester, New Hampshire - which is small, but significant.

It is the only north-eastern state to be taken by the Republicans in the last presidential election.

Now the Democrats want the state back.
